Secular Home Educators of Augusta is a support group for families in the Augusta CSRA area who are homeschooling for reasons other than religious.

SHEA is a group of FREETHINKING adults who are raising our children as freethinkers. As members, we have in common a passion for learning, a dedication to our families, and carry open minded attitudes.

There are no member fees, no statements of faith to sign. You will however be REQUIRED to submit your understanding and agreement to guidelines set forth by Administrators of SHEA along with a brief introduction.

SHEA families get together regularly for park days, informal and formal field trips, cooperative learning, and just plain fun. These events are planned by our members and active participation is expected. In addition to events for the kids, SHEA hosts a monthly Mother's Night Out.

When you sign up please do not select "no mail", instead select "special notices". This means that you will receive occasional messages from the group owners that are considered important. We won't do this often but occasionally it will be necessary.

NOTE: This group was created for SECULAR and FREETHINKING homeschool families. If you are looking for religious discussion and information on homeschooling with a God view, please do not apply for membership with SHEA. List owners will not tolerate proselytizing or flaming of any sect on this list or during any group activity.
