June 28th, Big Day for Puppy Mill Rescues in Seattle   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #100 of 100 | Next >
Hello Dog Lovers,

I must start this email with a reminder to some of you, and new
informaiton to others, that I very rarely participate in large-scale
or individual rescue/re-homing efforts. Without going into more
detail, it is because I have yet been able to stand behind the
motives and ethics of any I have been asked to help with.

That being said, I was given the opportunity to meet a woman named
Ginger who runs an unbeleivable rescue operation out of Seattle. For
information about this one-woman-show, you really must see her
website: http://www.gingerspetrescue.org/.

Ginger specializes in death-row dogs, with a special outreach to
puppy mill dogs under 20lbs.

To make a long story short, Ginger regularly receives these small
puppy mill dogs from California where they have been bred as "purse
dogs" and then euthanized when they reach surplus. The unique niche
she has carved means she receives about 35 small dogs every 6 weeks.
Because of the very high demand for small dogs in Seattle, her
adoption numbers are excellent and foster time for these little guys
can be very short.

You, in particular, are recieivngn this email because I know
personally of your above-and-beyond love for dogs and thought you may
either be interested in fostering, adopting, donating, etc, or may
know someone who might be. One of the things I hate about these
emails is that they so often come off as being desperate or pushy--
please, please, please, do not feel compelled to be a part of this
operation if it's just not right for you at this time. I absolutely
understand not being able to participate for hundreds of reasons and
respect them all.

Ginger is always receiving these dogs (she also does big ones, too)
but she is receiving an espeically large group on June 28th. They
simply need to be loved by humans, given the contact they have been
denied, and often they need remedial training including potty
training. If you are at all interested in recieving one of these
dogs, please email me ASAP and I will forward the info.

Always My Warmest Woofs and With Much Respect,
