Tracy,
I was thinking that it was too bad that Blackout could not do that 180 degree turn at the start of a match that has been successful against ExSpurt in the past. The results might have been different. How about two buttons on Blackout, one button for normal competitors and another button when the opponent is ExSpurt?
I heard from Dale again. He says that the students are getting together and forming a robot group at UNI. Perhaps we will see some alumni entries next year.

Rick,Yes I received Blackout today - still in one piece.Congratulations on the win! Exspurt just looks more impressive every time I see it.Thank you so much for all of your encouragement and help. I was very glad to have Blackout stay working for the first time. No stage fright! Woo hoo! Now on to other robots. What did you think of the students' robots? Much better this year I think.I sort of punted with the MOSFETs for Blackout and went with the L298 (I already had it mostly done). Even with 2 amps/channel and a large heat sink I still managed to over heat the L298 once in practice. My new lite sumo will be all MOSFETs he he he...I have a used 55t motor on the way for the rover so I'll see how that works.-Tracy.![]()
