Albany is a special place, a small town where neighbors help each other and children can walk safely. But waterfront development proposals for malls and casinos from Magna Entertainment Corporation for years have threatened our community with gridlock, would permanently overdevelop the shoreline, and cut the Eastshore State Park in half. Why do we need to repeat the mistakes of other cities?

Citizens for the Albany Shoreline supports a vision for the waterfront that includes the completion of the Eastshore State Park with the expansion of open space on the Albany waterfront. We can leave an improved waterfront for future generations.

Over the next year the City of Albany, working with the community will plan a new future for our shoreline. This is our chance to speak out with one voice and set a clear direction for expanded open space on the shoreline. To make this a reality we need your help!
