Would this horrifying story have received the same overwhelming coverage if Sister Lashaun had been a woman of European descent? Why has O.J. Simpson and Michael Jackson's stories drawn more coverage than Robert Blake? Unfortunately, we know the answer too well...

Her tragic gesture is sadly the typical outcome of poor mental health management and the failure of Children Protective Services to maintain early intervention services to save Poor Children of Color's life.

Lashaun should be transferred to a psychiatric unit, not behind bars, or a potential candidate for death row!
