Whatever you'd like, I suppose. Remember though, it's at 1:00 in the
afternoon, so I wouldn't go all out (save it for Ostara!). Chips
would be groovey ;), but so would things like veggies (they're not
junk!).

I think Steph has beverages taken care of, so unless there is
something odd you'll want to be drinking, don't worry about that.

No one has mentioned the liturgy not even once since I posted it. I
don't know how to take that!

Kalvin,
I can definately bring pop with me again this time and I can bring
anything else if it's a dish to pass or the entire meal, I'm willing
to help out with whatever I can as I certainly do not expect
everyone else to provide the meals thus please let me know if there
is more I can bring. I'll also gather together any of the items
that I have that were listed in the posting. For the singing aspect
should I bring any of my rattles (i.e., turtle rattle, shakers, gord
rattle, etc.)? And now that I think about it they are in storage at
my mom's over in Newberry but I can get them at some point...
Steph.

Thanks, Katie! I was going to call Ashley today and have her get
ahold of you for me, but this works out too ;) Sorry you can't come
to this meeting, but you should still be able to make it to the high-
day, right?

Good to see you join the group :)

Okay folks, here is the liturgy so far. One area I need to work on
is the "Sacrifices of the Rite", but otherwise, this is the complete
liturgy (Minus some details, like exact wordings).

Only two ritual roles has been taken so far, and that is the nature
spirits invocation, and the Outdwellers. If you see something you'd
like to do, say something. Otherwise, I'll start assigning roles ;)

Tand

RITUAL:

Procession:
(Sing) Come we now as a People

Gather & Precedent:

Good Afternoon and welcome to the celebration of Eostre... (And
so on). Spoken by Tand

Honoring Earth Mother:

"Beloved mother of all, from whose starry womb the green earth
springs; you are the bearer of all life. Accept our offering, and
bless and uphold this rite."

(Sprinkle corn-meal or grain at the base of the pole)

Banashing Outdwellers and Cleansing:

"To all of those who do not hear the call inside them to honor
our Gods, We ask you just to be silent for a while and leave us
alone. In the same way, all negative parts of ourselves can remain
silent at this time, So we may be left alone with our loving
thoughts, words and deeds.

Outdwellers, begone!"

Opening and Consencration of Gates:

"We call upon the spirit of fire to join us, to draw the worlds
together by this shared spark and to carry our words and offerings to
the gods. Let the fire become a portal." (Oil into fire)

"We call upon the spirit of the world tree to join us, to join
the worlds together, to center us, and to lift us up. Let the tree
become a portal." (Place incense at base of tree)

"We call upon the spirit of the well to join us, to feed the
worlds and sustain and inspire us. Let the well become a portal."
(Place silver into well)

Kalvin - "May we be connected with all things in this sacred space."

(sing) Portal Song

Welcoming the Kindred:

(Holding a bowl of soil)

Nature Spirits
Spirits of Nature, the Sidhe, and the Fey,
I reach across the Veil with my words,
And call to You.

Spirits of the Animals,
Bird and Beast, Fish and Fowl,
I call you into this Sacred Soil.

Spirits of the Plants,
Sacred and ancient Trees,
I call you into this Sacred Soil.

Spirits of the Land,
Earth, Water, Air and Fire,
I call you into this Sacred Soil.

That we may be Blessed, Guided and Inspired
By our Communion with you.

(Holding water in bowl)

Ancestors
Mothers and Fathers, Old Ones, and Ancestors,
I reach across the Veil with my words, And call to You.

Mothers and Fathers of our Families, Parents of our Parents' Parents,
I call you into this Sacred Water.

Old Ones of this Land, Loving Tribes of Caretakers,
I call you into this Sacred Water.

Ancestors of our Culture, Ancient worshippers of our Gods,
I call you into this Sacred Water.

That we may be Blessed, Guided and Inspired
By our Communion with you.

Gods

Bright and Shining Gods and Goddesses,
I reach across the Veil with my words, And call to You.

Spirit of the Divine that creates and pervades everything, Infinite,
Joyous, Eternal,
I acknowledge you in this Sacred Air.

Spirits of the Mother and Father of the Gods, I worship you in this
Sacred Air.

Spirits of all the Gods and Goddesses:
I honor you in this Sacred Air.

I call you with our memories of the past.
I call you with our desires for the present.
I call you with our vision of the future.

I humbly bid you welcome
That we may be Blessed, Guided and Inspired
By our Communion with you.

Offering the Sacrifices:

"And now that we are ALL together, let us exchange our gifts, so
that in our exchanging we become closer to one another. Kindred, we
ask you to accept our humble offerings so that you will know us."

(Sings while sacrifices are being made)
Gods and Dead and Mighty Sidhe

"Spirits of nature, accept our offerings!" (place seeds at base of
tree)

"Ancestors, accept our offering!" (Pour a libation of beer into the
well)

"Shining ones, accept our offering!" (Break bread, place half on the
fire)

(End chant)

Sacrifices of the Rite

"Now it is time to attend to those we honor for this rite."

Personal workings

"If any of us gathered wish to add something, make requests, or
oaths, offer praise, or work a spell, let them do so now"

Ask for the new Grove's blessing.

Blessings, and Return:

"Our offerings are now made, and our requests let known. Dear
kindred, share with us now what you have to give. (Raise pitcher)
Bless these waters with your love and strength so that we may drink
it in. Give us the waters of life!"

Children of the Earth, in this season of growing light and the birth
of all potential, you are offered a boon! Choose now, and hold this
prayer of manifestation of growing light in your mind and heart as we
draw at last, the Blessing. Let none drink of this vessel holding ill
will to any here in their hearts! Let this be the cup of health,
peace and fellowship!

Thank kindred for attending, and bid them goodbye:

"Thank you, great ones, for attending our rite. We have enjoyed our
time together, but now it is time to part."

"Spirits of nature, thank you
Ancestors, thank you
Shining ones, thank you"

Kalvin - "The portals shall now be closed. The fire, be only as
flame. The well, be only waters. The tree, but a pole."

Our rite is at an end.

/RITUAL

Or, something like that ;)

Yep. Sunday, the 20th, at 1:00pm, Dani's house. Steph, if you want
to do the pop thing again, that would be great, but really all you
need to bring is your notepad and some ideas :) You could check out
the items list from a few posts back and see if there are any ritual
items you'd like to contribute.

Also, be ready to learn a song or two. Nothing big though :)

I do know that some of us will probably be heading out to the ritual
site after the meeting to look around too. I don't know if we can
all go though, but you could bring a pair of walking boots too, just
in case you would like to go and can.

I don't know exacry what you mean, but, yeah, there's a spot in the
ritual for personal workings, spells, and praise offerings, so we can
place this there.

> BTW - has a meeting been scheduled?

Meeting sunday would probably be easiest for me, though I know you do
have to drive into town. I'd say maybe sunday around lunch-time...
1:00 should do. How does that sound?

> Also, what items do we need to get together for the ritual?

Any praise offerings and spell working material you might need, stuff
for potluck, and... Lots of stuff for the ritual. Bowls, for
offerings and just plain holding stuff would be great, preferably not
plastic bowls ;) Incense, and incense holders. I know that there
will be an offering of coarnmeal. I have some whiskey for offerings,
and will have beer *grin* Then there is oil - vegetable, I think.
We'll need a loaf of bread, not sliced, (part will be used as an
offering, and part for us to eat). Which leads me to a thought:
since ritual is also about a "shared meal", keep in mind offerings
that can be split between the powers, and also be eaten by us, like a
loaf of bread. Seeds would be great - both as offerings, and if you
would like some blessed during the rite. Something to drink for the
return flow as well. I know I will drink beer for that part, but we
won't all be, so maybe something like juice or, I don't know, water?

That isn't a complete list, I'm sure, but it'll get us started.

I hope to finish the liturgy tonight, but I keep adding things! I am
using the last Mabon rite as a template though, so some things
haven't changed. Not that I expect anyone to have that script still,
but I'm just sayin' *grin*

Lemme know your thoughts,
Tand

Definately. That is, there is supposed to be divination as part of
the liturgy, but I was about to overlook at, as I don't do
divination, and no one else seemed interested when I brought it up
before.

I've never heard of it, but it does sound, um, seasonal. If you're
willing to do it then go ahead. Will this be a personal divination,
or group-centered divination?

have to be sunday since I have a thing at work saturday. Or, maybe
wednesday after work or something?

Zach's mom apparently did say YES to hosting the ritual at her
house. Zach is supposed to get back in touch with me to take me out
there so I can have a look around. That will probably be this

I am SOOOOO sorry that I posted first. The tears are flowing like a
waterfall. Mea Culpa.

I love the name "Twilight Flame." And I guess being called a "proto-
grove" is better than being the "BABY Grove of the Twilight Flame."
BUT, you did ask for everyone's input. So, it is only right that
either you wait to fill out the application until the meeting on
Tuesday or at least call the two other women who attended the first
meeting.

BTW - WHERE is Dani's house? Can you give me easy directions from

Jan,

Dernit! I got on to post the first post cuz I was tired of waiting
for everyone to join, but you beat me to it! That's just SO like
you ;) heehee

I was thinking: Proto-grove of the Twilight Flame, as a name, yes.
ADF has its groves take names in the form of
1)Grove of .....
or
2)..... Grove

Such as; Grove of the Midnight Sun, or Raven's Cry Grove.

But, we'd only be a proto-grove, so we have to call ourselves such
until we get provisional grove status, of course.

If you think the name is doable to get us started (we can change it
later), then lemme know and I will submit the application with that
name. Unless you want to wait until we meet and fill out the form
together? Either way is fine with me.

I'm thinking we need might need to reinvite some people...
