We are a group of individuals in San Diego County that are interested in: hiking, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, etc.
We originally started as a group of hikers who are amateur radio operators and we use Hand Held transceivers for intergroup communications and communications back to Coastal SDCo via amateur radio repeaters on Palomar Mountain and other mountain tops in San Diego County. At present our group is about 50% amateur radio operators with family and friends making up the rest of the group.
The above picture is of the famous Rail Road Trestle located Northwest of S-2 and Rd 8. It is the longest curved wooden RR Trestle in the world. After many years of inactivity it appears that the rail line is being restored and might be in operation sometime in 2004... if all goes well. We have done this hike in one day and also as an overnight backpacking adventure.
Anyone is free to join our group who is interested in hiking, backpacking, Geocaching, canoeing, kayaking, ???
At present the main group of 80 individuals, who are interested in outdoor activities, are located on Tom's REFLECTOR and we are using this REFLECTOR as an emergency backup to our main REFLECTOR.
If you would like to join the main group on another REFLECTOR while we are setting up this "backup" REFLECTOR, please contact -

and he will send you information on the other REFLECTOR which we have been using for many years.
