Description
Hello and welcome to our new Sacramento Friends social group for people living with herpes. Our members live in and around the Sacramento area and stretch as far as the Bay Area. This group was formed for a variety of reasons. First and foremost this group is for socializing and meeting others in a non-threatening environment for friendship and fun. This is not a dating service but you may meet someone special at one of our events. Singles and couples are welcome to join. We also lend support to those who are struggling emotionally with this affliction. We’re here to let you know that life does not STOP when you contract herpes; you just need to make a few minor adjustments.
Some activities that we’d like to plan include; biking on the American River trail, Sacramento Kings and River Cats games, hiking in the local mountains and hills, camping trips, dinner and a movie, going out to live music or comedy events, etc. The sky’s the limit! We encourage our members to participate in the event planning and coordination. Just send out an email to gage the interest of an activity and then start planning.
There are no fees involved in becoming a member and everyone who plans an event is volunteering their own time and effort.
Another wonderful group is the Bay Area Friends. This diverse group has hundreds of active members who organize many fun-filled events throughout the entire Bay Area. Our members will be able to car pool to BAF events for the opportunity to meet more great people who share in our unique situation.
We hope to create our own diverse group of individuals with various cultural backgrounds of all ages. If you have any questions or just need someone to talk, please feel free to contact a moderator. For many people, going to an event for the first time can be a little scary. If desired, we will match you up with a current member in order to make you feel more comfortable.
Please let us know how you learned of this group when you join.
