Pass it On, Pay it Forward

This group is for giving things away, and asking for things you need. The item does not have to be tangible - you can ask for a favor or service, ask to borrow something rather than buying an item new to use one time for a special occasion, even ask for advice. Ideas and knowledge have value and can be given away just like anything else.

This helps the giver declutter while being easier than having a garage sale. Besides, it feels good to give a no longer wanted or needed item to someone who does want or need it and truly appreciates it.

This helps the receiver save money while finding items they need.

This helps the planet by reducing demand for new items and keeping useful things out of the landfill.

The only requirements are that everything offered on the site be free, legal, and appropriate for all ages. Spam will not be tolerated. Religion and politics are best avoided. That isn't to say you can't offer a book, video, whatever about religion or politics -- let's just not start a discussion along those lines.

This list will never be on full moderation except in the case of an emergency -- like when Yahoo was sending out a few hundred copies of each email, or a rash of email viruses coming through. New members will have their first three posts moderated unless they are invited by an existing member just to make sure they have not joined only to send spam to the group.

Those are the rules so far. All of them.
