St. Tammany Parish Homeschoolers was formed to provide positive support and encouragement for Louisiana homeschooling families in the Greater St. Tammany Parish area.
We are an inclusive (no discrimination - all are welcome), secular (not connected to any religion) group dedicated to creating an environment in which parents and children from all walks of life will find a warm and welcoming community.
St. Tammany Parish homeschool group works toward creating opportunities in a variety of educational and social settings through the active support of our membership. Currently we hold weekly park days, monthly Presentation Days, skate days, bowling days and various other activities such as hiking club and swim team. Members have an open invitation to participate, contribute, or create activities according to the individual needs of their family.
We believe each member brings something valuable to our group and we encourage you to make your voice heard. Because our members have very diverse backgrounds, encompassing a wide variety of political and religious beliefs, please refrain from writing posts involving politics or religion. Also, when reading posts, please remember our goal is to treat each other with respect and kindness and to make everyone feel included.
We acknowledge that there are many different ways to successfully educate children. The cohesive bond that holds us together is our strong desire to be consciously involved in the lives and educations of our children.
Our goal is to learn from and support each other, in a continued effort to improve resources and provide meaningful opportunities and relationships within the group, as well as the community at large.
