A Very High Up Light   Message List
Reply Message #318 of 382 |
Hey all,

Since there are a lot of houses in the neighborhood that are my model
(breezeway between garage/main house where the front door is
located...even though the door is technically on the side), I'm hoping
someone has a good answer to this question --

Just inside our door, there is a light fixture in the main entryway
that is about 20 feet up from the floor. Normally for a high up light,
I would simply use an extending pole with a light bulb attachment;
however, this fixture has a glass covering on it that will require
removal first which can't be done with the light bulb poles. My next
thought was to use a ladder. I grabbed my ladder which only goes A
frame up to 10 feet. I tried putting it in traditional ladder
configuration, but all the walls I could prop it against are too far
away from the light for me to climb and still reach to the middle of
the ceiling.

Does anyone else have this light fixture issue in the entryway (or
elsewhere in their house)? My only remaining solution is to buy or
borrow a much larger a-frame ladder which is either an expensive for
me or inconvenient for my neighbors option. So I'm looking to hear if
anyone has a better idea or proven solution
