Christian - Muslim Debate in 12th Century Part 5 of 20

ABU-SALAMAH: This is evident and without any doubt.

Monk: I will now prove that they made miracles, not by the force of swords, but
by the power of their Sender from the submission of the barbarian people to
them. Their preachings were not dependent on their tribute, neither menace of
the sword, nor did they take any money. They were mainly illiterate, fishermen,
and tent tailors. But the power they received from Christ helped them to govern
the world. When Christ sent them to preach in the world he entered the room
where they were gathered after his resurrection, while the doors were closed, He
gave them peace, first because they were full of fear, then he breathed on them
and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit! This Spirit will be your voice. By this
voice you will raise the dead, heal the sick, and vanquish rulers. If you remit
the sins of the people they will be pardoned. But if you retain them, they will
be so. Give free of charge, as you received so." He told them also, "Do not
carry a staff nor haversack, nor food. Neither have two coats, or two pairs of
shoes. Do not carry money in your belt."

Now tell me which is the stronger of that sign? If you tell me their
commandments were too soft, I will answer you that those were not theirs but of
Christ, their master. They are, "Whoever hits you on the right cheek turn to him
the left one." And "if someone wants your coat give him you other coat also;"
and "if someone uses you for a mile, go two miles with him. Love your enemies.
Bless those who persecute you. Do good to those who afflict you." Now tell me
who could listen to these commandments and accept them? If the miracles did not
astonish the world then they believed them and trusted their preaching. Look, O
Moslem, at the preaching of the Apostles. As they preached, the orators, the
scientists, and the kings said, "Believe in God.

He has been born of a woman. He ate food and drank water. He has been beaten and
whipped. People mocked him and spit upon his face. They slapped him and put on
his head a crown of thorns. He has been crucified and buried. He rose from the
dead. No one believed them. People mocked them, denied their sayings, hated and
chased them away. The Apostles said, "People, if you deny our preachings, we
shall prove he truth in fact. Bring to us the crippled, blind, and lepers, along
with the insane, dislocated and dead people." They said it in the name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth. "Stand up you dead person."

The people rose from the dead. Also they said it for other sick people and they
were healed. Then the people believed them and worshipped their God for their
acts testified for them. Some people closed their eyes and their ears like the
snake that closed her ears to avoid hearing the magicians voice.

But those who worshipped Satan by adultery, voluptuousness, viciviousness,
debauchery, and avidity and the target of which were to satisfy the desire of
their bodies: all of those became as a vapor and their idolotric adoration
ended. The heavens, the earth, God and his angels testify that the Apostles are
the messengers of Christ and that heir religion is the true one. Your prophet,
Mohammed, also testifies for them saying in the Koran, "We inspired the Koran as
a light and guidance and confirming what is in their hands (Christians) from the
Bible and the Gospels." So if your prophet and your Book confirmed the Gospel,
then you also have to do so. Otherwise, you treat your prophet and your books as
liars.

Press Release

PRO ORIENTE Forum Syriacum
Vienna, Austria
October 19, 2006

On October 18 and 19 October 2006 a meeting of 14 expert scholars from 9
countries of the Syriac Church tradition took place in Vienna. A new endeavour
called "PRO ORIENTE Studies of the Syriac Tradition was started. For this
purpose a Forum Syriacum has been formed which consists of an expanded circle of
expert scholars in Syriac studies. The founding members of the Forum Syriacum
are:

- Metropolitan APREM G. Mooken, India
- Metropolitan GREGORIOS Yohanna Ibrahim, Syria
- Metropolitan KURIAKOSE Theophilose, India
- Metropolitan Joseph POWATHIL, India
- Archbishop Jules Mikhael AL-JAMIL, Italy
- Archbishop Paul MATAR, Lebanon
- Archbishop Louis SAKO, Iraq
- Bishop Bawai SORO, USA
- Archdeacon Khoshaba GEORGES, Great Britain
- Father Frans BOUWEN, Israel
- Father Geevarghese CHEDIATH, India
- Father Baby VARGHESE, India
- Prof. Dietmar Winkler, Austria
- Dr. Aho Shemunkasho, Austria

- Mgr. Johan BONNY, Vatican (Observer)

From the beginning, PRO ORIENTE as a foundation of the Archdiocese of Vienna
has focused not only on the (Byzantine) Orthodox Church but has also included
the Christian traditions of the Orient. In order for PRO ORIENTE to help the
various churches of the Syriac tradition and to preserve their unique heritage
which is of importance for the whole of Christianity, the Foundation has invited
scholars and experts to study the East and West Syriac tradition.

This new Forum advises and consults the PRO ORIENTE Foundation to develop
appropriate studies and helps to coordinate the research projects. Within the
Forum Syriacum there should also be an exchange of current developments of the
Syriac Churches, to strengthen the solidarity of those who belong to the Syriac
tradition.

Concerning theme and method for research, PRO ORIENTE Forum Syriacum chooses
topics for research and the appropriate approaches to study them. This includes
individual studies, regional study groups in the Middle East, India and
elsewhere, and the scholarly exchange in academic conferences called PRO
ORIENTE Colloquia Syriaca.

The proceedings of the PRO ORIENTE Colloquia Syriaca as well as other related
studies will be published in a new series called PRO ORIENTE Studies of the
Syriac Tradition.

The Forum Syriacum has elaborated a work plan with research topics which
include: Church history (i.e. non-theological factors for division and the
common reading of history), Syriac Churches encountering other religions and
other cultures (i.e. inculturation and immigration); and liturgy, spirituality
and monasticism. At the first Colloquium Syriacum taking place in Vienna
November 5-10, 2007 the following theme will be studied: Syriac Churches
encountering Islam: past experiences and future perspectives. Thus the Forum
Syriacum also reacts to the intrinsic and external challenges with
which the Christians from the Middle East are confronted today.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PRO ORIENTE, Cardinal Christoph
Schnborn, paid a visit to the expert scholars assembled in Vienna. He welcomed
and appreciated the new endeavour of the PRO ORIENTE Studies of the Syriac
Tradition. He expressed his concern on the current difficult situation of the
Christians in the Middle East, which again forces many of them to emigrate. The
assistance of Cardinal Schnborn to the Christian refugees from the Middle East
living in Vienna was mentioned with gratitude by the participants. Cardinal
Schnborn emphasized the bridging function of those Christians in the region.

Pope says blunder first, then says sorry. This is Pope's tradition from 6th
century.I talked to a RCC scholar priest and asked him, how is your new Pope.
His immediate answer was that Pope's rules(Kalpanas) are applicable only for
eastern countries and not for western countries. Westerners don't care what Rome
says. Rome sits on the 7 hills.Study Revelation to see what will happen to the
city in the end that sits on 7 hills.Church killed 50 million people from 7th
century till now.Five years ago Pope asked pardon for Catholic Churches
wickedness to wards humanity.

Soon we will hear the apology from Rome for Malankara Christians.

"What makes us Christians? "Our faith," everyone would answer. How are we saved?
Obviously through the regenerating grace of baptism. How else could we be? We
are confirmed in our understanding that salvation comes through Father, Son and
Holy Spirit. Shall we cast away the standard of teaching we received? This would
surely be grounds for great sorrow; if we now reject what we accepted at
baptism, we will be found to be further away from our salvation than when we
first believed. We would be no different from someone who dies without baptism,
or who had been baptized with an unacceptable form. We made this profession when
we first entered the Church; we were delivered from idols and came before the
living God. Whoever does not hold fast to this confession as his sure foundation
at all times, to the end of his life, makes himself a stranger to God's
promises."

St. Basil the Great.

Please call on attention from all priestly and non priestly
dignitaries about the Priesthood of Jesus Christ Our Lord, which was
given to Him at the time His Baptism from St.John The Baptist.

Q.1 Is it a true fact or not?

Q.2 Is there any need of Him, the Son Of God to be ordained as a

Christian - Muslim Debate in 12th Century Part 6 of 20

Moslem: I trust the Gospel and all its contents. But you altered it as you
wanted.

Monk: Do not say something you cannot prove because in the end you will be
ashamed like one who prefers to block the sunlight. Tell me, ABU-SALAMAH, how
many years have passed from Christ until Mohammed?

Moslem: I do not know.

Monk: I will give the answer. From Christ to Mohammed are six hundred and some
more years which have passed.

Prince: You are right, Monk. That is what is found in history.

Monk: Were the Christians then in the whole world?

Moslem: Yes they were.

Monk: Like in the present time.

Moslem: Yes and more than they are now.

Monk: Could you count the number of Gospels, which existed in that time on the
earth in the whole world in various languages?

Moslem: We could not.

Monk: Let us suppose that some people in the West had altered the Gospels. So
how did they reach those who are at the end of the earth in the East? Same thing
for those in the North towards the South. It is impossible. If that was possible
you were then founding the mythic Gospels with a part of the Christians. While
if you were seeing over the whole world you will find the Gospels in various
languages analogous to those received by the Apostles from our Lord the Christ.
No difference between any of them, even in one letter, except for the particular
traits of each language. I hereby give you
an example which lets you believe me. If somebody comes and shows a Koran
different from that known to you now, and says, "This is the inspired Koran by
the Prophet," while it is not, will you accept it?"

Prince: No, on the contrary, we shall kill him and burn his book.

Monk: How could you equalize the Master and the servant, the Creator and the
created or God and man?

Moslem: Dont you know, Monk, that Mohammed governed the Arabs and that he is
Gods Prophet and Messenger because he guided Ishmaels descendants and passed
them from idolatry to the worship of the living God, as did Christ and his
Apostles?

Dear Moderator,

The enclosed photo is a newsmagazine posted on the notice board at Pazhaya
Seminary, Kottayam (taken on a mobile phone camera and hence not good in
resolution). Read the news at the top "EE SANGAMAM SWASATHAMO ?"; Here you can
see the photo and news about our seminary students visiting Old seminary. Look
at the words used. Pathrekkese vibhagam, Vikhatana vadikal .... and this is when
our seminarians made a courtesy visit. I don't think even Pakistan will use such
nick names when an Indian delegation visits them.

Unfortunately, such derogatory words are used by the IOC. Even now you can see
many people in IOC (and through their influence people of some other Christian
denominations also) calling our St. Joseph's church at Kottayam as 'Shappu
pally' for the simple reason that a toddy shop existed in front of the church
before the church's establishment in 1980's. And last day a well dressed, decent
IOC gentleman of 60's who came to my office, while referring to a shop near our
St. Joseph's church, identified our church as "Kallu Shappu Pally". I preferred
to remain silent, but it really hurt me very much !!! When some people cannot
spare even a worship centre of God, tell me how can peace be achieved.

Pope to visit the cradle of Christianity

ANTAKYA, Turkey - When Benedict XVI begins his first visit to a Muslim country
here Tuesday he will be in the land that is home to the first Christian church
the Cave church of Saint Peter in this southern Turkish town formerly known as
Antioch.

Turkeys diverse Christian community Orthodox, Syriac, Jacobite, Gregorian
Armenian, Catholic today accounts for no more than 200,000 souls in a
population of 70 million, but it was the cradle of Christianity and once home to
major Christian settlements.

Christ was born in Galilee, but the baby was quickly placed in the cradle of
Asia Minor, said Istanbuls Vicar Apostolic, Monsignor Louis Pelatre, referring
to the other name of Anatolia, the peninsula that makes up most of Turkeys
777,000 square kilometers (311,000 sq miles).

This town of 200,000 people near the Syrian border is a model of tolerance
between the overwhelmingly Muslim population and some 1,300 Christian residents.

A Muslim husband and wife in their seventies, Saban and Cemile, -- they would
not give their last name came all the way from Adana, Turkeys fourth biggest
city, 190 kilometers (120 miles) away, to visit the worlds first church.

This is the house of God, who is the same for us all, said Saban, a small,
stocky man with a fine moustache and thick glasses, leaning on his cane.

As a sign of respect, Cemile wore a headscarf as she entered St. Peters, as she
would when entering a mosque a gesture of respect Muslim and Catholic women
share.

They admired the simplicity of the church, the natural vault of the grotto
decorated only with a plain white altar and a small recess above bearing a
statue of St. Peter, placed there in the 1930s when the site became a museum.

Although as a museum it is theoretically closed to religious rites, Capuchin
monks occasionally celebrate mass here for pilgrims on religious feasts.

Fleeing persecution, Jesus apostles St. Peter and St. Paul settled for a time
in this city to preach and form the first community to bear the name
Christian, according to the New Testament.

The grotto, which legend says St. Peter dug with his own hands, is 9.5 meters
(31 feet) wide, 13 metres (43 ft) deep and seven meters (23 ft) high and a
secret passageway in the back, now partly collapsed, served as an escape route.

Other vestiges from the dawn of Christianity in Antakya, a crossroads between
Anatolia, Mesopotamia and Palestine, have since disappeared, destroyed by time
and a succession of invasions.

The Christian Church was founded in Antakya and it became the first leg of the
escape route for Christians fleeing persecution, Mgr. Pelatre said.

The first Christians had great trouble settling in Judea-Samaria, todays West
Bank, he said. Their first haven was Antioch, where Peter and Paul met.

They then spread to Anatolia, as far as Ephesus, Pelatre said, 1,100 km (700
miles) west on Turkeys Aegean coast, where the Virgin Mary is said to have
lived the last years of her life and where Benedict XVI will celebrate mass on
Wednesday.

In the centuries that followed, the fertile lands of Anatolia became a haven for
Christians fleeing Roman persecution.

One major settlement was Central Anatolias Cappadocia region, whose lunar
landscape and so-called fairy chimneys make it one of Turkeys major tourist
draws.

Cappadocia was a major center of Christianity, where monks carved churches, and
the faithful dwellings, out of the soft volcanic rock from the 8th century on
and built huge, labyrinthine underground cities with sophisticated security to
hide when the invaders came.

They began to abandon the region for the safer lands of Byzantium, further west,
with the arrival of the Seljuk Turks from the 11th century onward.

Jacobites' call to reopen churches

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The Jacobite Syrian Christian Church has expressed optimism that with
some initiative from the State Government it would be possible to celebrate
Christmas in peaceful circumstances in the churches that are still closed owing
to the lingering dispute between the two factions of the Malankara Church.

Metropolitan and Episcopal Synod Secretary of the Jacobite Church, Joseph
Greogorios, told reporters here on Monday that the Church was not fully
satisfied with the inquiries into the police action on the faithful at the
Thrikkunnathu seminary. He also expressed unhappiness at the way the police
tended to enter premises of churches. He said that in some cases the police even
entered the `Madhbaha' or the Holy of Holies.

He, however, said that the Jacobite Church had an assurance from the Government
that such action would not be repeated.

The Metropolitan also reiterated the called for steps to reopen the churches
that are still closed and expressed willingness to negotiate for a permanent
resolution of the contentious issues between the two factions of the Malankara
Church.

He was speaking to reporters ahead of releasing a book by Father Varghese
Kallappara, official spokesman for the Jacobite Church.

Minister for Public Works T.U. Kuruvilla released the book `Bible
Prabhashana Dhyana Chinthakal.' Ernakulam Press Club president Jai Nath presided
over the function.

The Metropolitan said that the constitution of the church court by the Jacobite
Church recently was to meet the situation arising out of family disputes.

The need to provide counselling to families was obvious now and the church court
would be a suitable place for the same. The decision to constitute the church
court was in keeping with the increasing number of family cases going to civil
courts, he said.

convenience and auxiliary metropolitans will be appointed for these regions
soon. Development committees and regional offices will also be set up, the
Metropolitan said.

Since the sixth century itself the Syrian Orthodox Church was nicknamed after
its greatest organizer, Bishop of Edessa Jacob Baradaeus (Yaqub Burdono AlsJND
BN}s\d.30 July 578). He was called Baradaeus because of the simplicity of his
dress. Cf. Abbeloos, J. B. and Lamy, T. J. (ed. and transl.): Gregorii
Bar-Hebraei Chronicon Ecclesiasticum, I-III, Paris-Louvain, 1872-1877, cols.
97-99. (The word ssJND means saddle-cloth and Jacob is said to have been
wearing a horse-cloth for his cloak. Cf. PAYNE- SMITH: Dictionary, p. 39) When
the Church was weakened after the christological conflicts during and after the
Chalcedonian council and when the Patriarch Severius had to flee to Egypt in AD
518, Jacob re-organized the Church and ordained many priests. Cf.Wigram: The
separation of the Monophysites, London, 1923, pp. 133-138 for the biography of
Jacob Baradaeus and Chronicon Ecclesiasticum I-II, cols. 216f, 218f, 236, 240,
244 and III, cols. 98-100 for his activities. We see the term first used in
Michael the Greats description of the inner -monophysitic quarrel between Jacob
Baradaeus and Paulos of Bet-Ukomo. Even though today the name is not officially
seen as the suitable one to describe the Syrian Orthodox Church, the above given
quotation from the Chronicon Ecclesiasticum reveals that in the times of Bar
Ebroyo it was not wrong to describe themselves so.

MAR YAKOUB BURDHONO, the sculptor of the Syrian Orthodox Church

Syrian Orthodox Christians are really very proud to bear the nickname
'Jacobites' as the name lends to the most powerful and magnanimous figure in the
history of the Syrian Orthodox Church. Each of its members is delighted to hear
this name being called. The name Jacobites were given to us as a nickname
because we were the followers of Mar Yakoub Burdhono. As we celebrate the
'dukhrono' of our church's most important and the most eminent Bishop on Nov.28,
I would like to share you some facts about this name and other important
incidents associated with the name Jacob and our Holy Church.

The Syrian Orthodox Church has three very important Jacobs, not withstanding the
numerous others who have sacrificed their entire life to the Holy Church, which
is the body of the Son of God.

The first one is Jacob, the Great, the man in the Old Testament, son of Isaac.
When we think of Jacob, the Great in relation to church, we see that this Jacob
symbolically showed the inception of Church and laid the baseline foundation of
it. Jacob saw in his dream angels ascending and descending the ladder to Heaven.
Upon awakening, he erected a stone, consecrated oil upon it and offered
sacrifice to God. This way he symbolized the great sacrifice and inception of
Holy Church. This Old Testament incident was not a miracle; rather it was the
will of God.

The second most prominent character with the name Jacob who comes into picture
is Jacob, the brother of Jesus Christ. He was not among the Apostles. He was
blood related to Jesus and so he got the opportunity to celebrate the Holy Mass
first. Our Lord himself taught him the liturgy, now called as Anaphora of Mar
Yakoub. (St: John the Apostle who was the most pious and celibate man among the
Apostles got only a second chance in celebrating the Holy Mass!).Jacob (Mar
Yakoub) later said, "I have neither added nor omitted anything to it (the
Anaphora)". This anaphora or the Divine Liturgy is still used by Syrian
Christians without omitting or adding anything to it till now. And in fact we
are the only Christians in the world who offer the Holy Mass as taught by our
Lord Jesus Christ. In this way Jacob, the brother of Jesus revealed the real
principle, which was only symbolized by Jacob, the Great. This incident was not
a miracle; rather it was the will of God.

The third and the last prominent character with the name of Jacob is Mar Yakoub
Burdhono, who can be rightly called as the sculptor of the modern Syrian
Orthodox Church .The church's base line was laid down by Jacob, the Great
symbolically. Our Lord himself built it upon the great rock. St: Peter. St:
Peter for us is a synonym for the true faith and upon the true faith church was
built. Gates of hell can never overturn it. And this was shown by the coming of
Mar Yakoub Burdhono to the forefront of the Syrian Orthodox Church. Because the
Church had truth in it, the powers of hell couldn't defeat it and Mar Yakoub
Burdhono was raised from Constantinople when Church was in severe trouble.

There was truth in the Son of God and that's why the Jews became envious and
they insulted and persecuted our Lord. Because there was truth in our Church, it
is being persecuted for various reasons all over the world. Because there is
truth in our Church, we were insulted being called upon as Jacobites. But it was
the will of God, to name it like that and we are proud now being called so. So
great is the value of the name Jacob as we have seen above with regard to the
various names in the Church history.

In my opinion, Mar Yakoub Burdhono should be called as the sculptor of modern
Syrian Orthodox Church. The Church that was created by our Lord and served by
Apostles was mutilated by persecutions under the influence of Satan. The
mutilated church was given a new shining and powerful face by God through the
hands of mar Yakoub Burdhono.

Let's pray to God to give us more efficient hands to protect the Holy Church
form persecutors. Let's intercede to Mar Yakoub Burdhono to give power to our
Holy Church's leaders.

Let's intercede to him to give strength and ability to our beloved HH Patriarch
and HB Thomas I Catholicose to cruise the sea of turbulence. Let's pray for our
Church.

Let's keep a vow that we will never allow anyone to mutilate the face of our
Church that was nurtured and nourished by Holy Fathers and Saints

Mar Yakoub Burdhono pray for us

Politically motivated murder of Assyrian leader in Iraq

PRESS RELEASE, STOCKHOLM, November 27, 2006

A Christian Assyrian leader in Iraq murdered by unknown gunmen.

November 23, 2006, was the last day of 52 years old Yeshoh Majid Hedayas life.

Hedaya was the leader of the Syriac Independent Unified Movement (SIUM). He had
dedicated most of his life to fight for and to unify his people. He tried to
protect Assyrians from both the assaults by the central government and from the
terror and murders by the Kurdish clans, now parties.

In accordance with article 121 of the Iraqi constitution, on October 31, 2006
Hedaya presented a demand for autonomy for the Assyrians in four districts of
the Nineveh plain. The demand was presented to the central government in
Baghdad.

According to several Iraqi sources, who wish to remain anonymous for fear for
their lives, such a political murder serves only the interests of the KDP, the
party of the Barzani clan. The motivation is that the KDP tries with all means
to annex the four Assyrian districts to the Kurdish autonomous region, in order
to extend its geographic boundaries. These four districts are demographically
dominated by Assyrians. According to the Iraqi constitution, these four
districts are entitled to self-government and shall not be controlled or
governed by any other autonomous region within the Iraqi state.

Christian - Muslim Debate in 12th Century Part 7 of 20

Monk: I know that Mohammed ruled the Arabs, descendants of Ishmael. I confess
too that he guided the Arabs and passed them from idolatry to the acquaintance
of God. But it is not true acquaintance because he intended to rule them in
order to have them under his jurisdiction, much more than to give them
information about the Creator. If you can be patient a little and calm yourself,
I will give you a testimony on behalf of me and all Christians concerning your
Prophet Mohammed, to let you know why we do not honor him or call him a Prophet
or Messenger.

Moslem: As the Prince allowed you to speak as you like and gave you security and
permission to speak about Islam, you can say anything you want.

Prince: ABU-SALAMAH, the Monk spoke as it is according to the truth and accepted
by reason.

ABU-SALAMAH: Give us what you have about Mohammed.

Monk: You should know, ABU-SALAMAH, that Mohammed was of the tribe of Korish and
a descendant of the tribe of Ishmael, son of Hagar the Egyptian, slave of Sarah,
house of Abraham. He was an Arab nomad and camel driver. In his trips he went to
Jerusalem, where he was welcomed by a Christian Nestorian, called Buhaira. When
he asked Mohammed about his religion he found him to be of the pagans. Those
were the sons of Ishmael. They worshipped an idol called AL-AKBAR. They used to
put around him poems containing desire and love written on tablets that were
hung over the idol. They served for prayers and had been called the seven
"uruallakat." When Buhaira knew that Mohammed was from that tribe, he had
sympathy for him, due to the similarity of language, friendship, and desire for
knowledge. Then he read to him some chapters from the Gospels, the Bible, and
the Psalms. When he returned home, he said to his friends, "Woe to you! You are
in flagrant error and your worship is null and unprofitable." They told him,
"What is your problem Mohammed? He answered, "I found the true God." They asked
him, "What is his name?" he replied, "His name is ALLAH. He created heaven and
earth and all the creatures in it. He sent me to you as a light and a sign of
his compassion." They said, "Could you show him to us to know where he is?" he
said, "He resides in heaven and sees all but he is invisible." They told him,
"We have a god whom we worship and honor. We inherited this world from our
ancestors who gave us the liberty to satisfy our desires with everything we
own." Then Mohammed told them, "That one who sent me to you told me that he
grants you what is better and greater than what you say." They asked, "What is
it?" he said, "It is a paradise where he transfers you after your death. It
contains food, drinks, and women." They asked, "What is the form
of food, drinks, and women?" He replied, "Rivers of honey, milk, and wine, with
beautiful women? There you will not be thirsty, nor full of tears." They said,
"Are you the Messenger of God?" He replied, "Yes." They said, "We fear our god
AL-AKBAR." He said, "Worship God and honor AL-AKBAR." Some of them said, "We
believe in God. You spoke the truth." Then he passed through another group from
Korish, Mohammeds tribe. He later upset another group. Those people allowed
their members to marry their own daughters and sisters. Those were their customs
before they knew God. Mohammed wrote to Buhaira all what happened to him.
Buhaira prohibited those customs and with great effort succeeded to draw them to
the first cousins. When he got enough adherents from the Arabs and the
aristocracy, some remained reticent. Then he desired the monarchy for himself
and formed an armed detachment to fight his enemies and said, "Those who enter
Islam will be safe." He said, "The nhabitants of heaven and earth entered Islam
by their will and some by force." Then he attacked a group and intimidated
another one and promised gifts to others and convinced another group with
adorned words and caustic arguments. His goal was to rule them and rush them in
order to reach the rest of the women, because he lusted for them greatly. He
desired them to a high degree. In confirmation of that he was not satisfied with
his numerous women, but he desired Zeids wife. When he saw her and took her
from him by force, pretending that God gave her to him as a wife instead of
Zeid. He spoke to his followers about this concern saying, "After Zeid had
accomplished his desire from her, God gave her to me as a wife." He pretended
that God inspired him to do so. But his followers said, "Messenger of God, what
god granted you what is not permitted to anyone else?"

"Vigilance and prayer should be as closely linked together as the body to the
soul, for the one cannot stand without the other. Vigilance first goes on ahead
like a scout and engages sin in combat. Prayer then follows afterwards, and
instantly destroys and exterminates all the evil thoughts with which vigilance
has already been battling, for attentiveness alone cannot exterminate them.
This, then, is the gate of life and death. If by means of vigilance we keep
prayer pure, we make progress; but if we leave prayer unguarded and permit it to
be defiled, our efforts are null and void."

St. Symeon the New Theologian.

Barekmor!

Q.1 Is it a true fact or not?

A.1 The priesthood of Jesus Christ did not come necessarily through John, even 3
wisemen came to worship at time of Jesus's birth, gave him gift representing his
priesthood. This fullfills scripture 'he will be a high priest of the order of
Melchizedek. This priesthood was present at time of his birth.John's baptism was
a routine Jewish religious custom.God accepts Jesus as his son with whom he is
pleased after baptism.

Q.2 Is there any need of Him, the Son Of God to be ordained as a
priest?

A.2 Yes ,Jesus Christ has to be a priest to do spiritual sacrifice for God on
behalf of mankind,in John 4:23 Jesus says to a Syriac lady as reiterated by
St.Sleebo Mor Osthathios that God is spirit and true worshippers must worship
him in truth & spirit, this means Jesus Christ is a priest who will link God ,the
Father and mankind.

This is my humble opinion.

Moslem: Woe to you, uncircumcised! Zeid had asked him to take her and swore that
she was unlawful for him.

Monk: He had to, otherwise he would have the same destiny as others.

Moslem: What happened to them?

Monk: Did you not hear about the Bedouin killed by your Prophet while on his bed
even though God forbids killing, even the birds in their nests. When asked by
his followers, "Who killed the slave?" Mohammed replied, "My sword."

Moslem: If you find some faults in the life of Mohammed to blame him for, you
must confess that he had the biggest and most important honor and the greatest
credit with God for what he did for Ishmaels descendants.

Monk: He guided you according to his will and not as God would desire. Mohammed
did not ignore you because he was far from the truth and the right way saying, I
do not know what happens to me and to you. Are we in the light or in the dark?"
He also said, Fear God as hard as you can, maybe you will succeed." And he
assigned that in each prayer you request to be guided to the right way saying,
"Guide us to the right way." So if you are right then you do not need to ask for
righteousness because he who is in the right way does not need to be guided to
it unless he asks God for help. But let us forget what we said. Here is an
example about this. Suppose, O Prince that I left your presence in search of a
land without leaving the road leading to the far land. I will not need guidance
but only help to reach the far land.

Dears in Christ

It is the fist signal to Yuhanon Milithios. The next step of the IOC will be
very difficult for him. I hope still he have enough time to re-think his stand
whether to go ahead with the IOC or to come back to his Home.

Now the days of Yuhanon Milithios is counted....
You see after few months, he will be removed from the IOC faction itself.

"We should wage this spiritual warfare with a precise sequence: first, with
attentiveness; then, when we perceive the hostile thought attacking, we should
strike at it angrily in the heart, cursing it as we do so; thirdly, we should
direct our prayer against it, concentrating the heart through the invocation of
Jesus Christ, so that the demonic fantasy may be dispersed at once, the
intellect no longer pursuing it like a child deceived by some conjuror."

Dear ALL,

Let our Youth go to other denomination & taste it,the wise among them will
become more wise and come back,if spirit identifies them with house of Jacob.

The hierrarchy of christ has apostles on top, then teachers, miracle doers etc,we
stand in apostle part and if some body go to other lower level there is nothing
wrong as long as he is able to identify his place. If lower level gives him more
satisfaction there is nothing wrong,if he identifies he officially belong to
apostolic level.

Our church survived only by spirit of God,we cannot forcefully stop anyone going
to other church,it is a foolish move,to restrict will also back fire ,those who
are known or called by name of Jacob has special place ,Isaiah specifies about
it which St.Sleebo emphasised.

Our church initially preserved & spread christiany for many centuries around
world, later we became a minority cos we never had colonial ambition of forced
conversion. All the other denomination in world evolved from our effort(Church of
Antioch)

Our litergy and many prayers in Syriac,English & Malayalam are all in classic
scholarly language, our semantic is high standard ,naturally youth will not
understand this unless it is translated to simple language.

I never studied in Jacobite sunday school,i had formal sunday school in Anglican
church, nobody forced me to go to Jacobite church, later some thing directed me to
jacobite Syriac church automatically,i go to many church i am officially always
a Jacobite,.We should not hinder freedom of youth, let them select what they
want, this inherent wisdom or spirit to realize cannot be teached always its more
often a gift.We cannot live fearing whether our children will go to other
denomination, let children examine all ,logically ,by spirit in them.
If we restrict them ,today they will obey you, tomorrow they will not be able to
debate with a person from another church on some issues and he will have to
surrender to others. This is a gift may be inborn, others cannot understand
this, that why even our bishops some times change loyalty who do not posses this
gift. Its inefficable.

Our leaders can take seminar about our church ,history and make simple
translation of prayers etc, also we can promote organisation like St.Pauls
mission www.stpaulsmission.org (as long as patronised by Jacobite bishop/church
as it is now ,I understand)which is evangelical (teacher level in
hierrarchy)promoted by our own church for such Youth who cannot completely
digest things, this is the only solution for Future .We must recognise
organisation like St.Pauls mission so that youth at least remain within church
in apostolic level. In future again we will become more smaller but will survive
by spirit of God.Such organisation will create a teacher level within apostolic
level for such youth, our people should understand this very well.

Ultimate aim of christ is to worship God(father) in truth & spirit irrespective
of Physical place as christ himself reveals this to a Syriac lady in John 4
:23(i think),ultimately all church will perish but people will worship God
directly in spirit & truth, this is a difficult subject, all cannot understand
this now.

This is my opinion of captioned subject.

Prince: Quite right!

Monk: If Mohammed knew that you were on the right way, he wouldnt order you to
request from God the guidance and maturity. Besides, knowing that God does not
accept his prayer, he commanded you to pray for him, and told you, "You
believers, pray for me and grant me salvation."

Moslem: Dont you know that God and the angels pray for Mohammed. Thus, dont we
have to pray for him too?

Monk: You should pray, preferably, for yourself and ask pardon for yourself; not
to live like one who is hungry and asks food from others, or like one who
suffers from an injury and asks for medicine from somebody else. So if you with
God and his angels pray for Mohammed who will accept your prayers? If this is
your opinion, you make God equal with mankind.

Moslem: The prayer of God is a grace according to his worshipers.

Monk: Who has benefited from the grace of God and his angels dont need your
prayers? You better pray for yourselves.

Moslem: Dont you Christians pray on your Christ?

Monk: Absolutely! We pray to him because he is our God and Creator and he
accepts the prayer of his servants if they do, and he forgives their sins.

Moslem: What an evident blasphemy and horrible idea. You worship a created man
born from a woman, who suffered shamefully. That is what you confess. And you, O
Monk, do not deny that? You mock with insolence our Prophet Mohammed the Chosen.

Monk: On my life, we do not bring anything from ourselves but from your book and
your Koran. Dont you confess that Mohammed was a Bedouin and from Korish?

Moslem: Yes!

Monk: Dont you know that he had many women, some against dowry, and some
concubines. Dont you agree that he was so passionate towards women that he used
the sword to kill those who did not obey him and that he took Zeids wife?

Moslem: Yes that was Gods command because God inspired him to do so.

Monk: Dont you confess that he died and was buried with thirty of his family
members with him under the soil? We mention only a few of the attributes of your
Prophet, those, which you admitted. So why do you contest it?
