SMART (Southeast Michigan Astrologers' Round Table) is proud to be a chapter of NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) and a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization. First established in 1994 as an informal and friendly circle of enthusiastic astrologers, it eventually became known as ASGOWC (Astrology Study Group of Washtenaw County). In 2006, the group reorganized and re-named itself SMART; the following spring SMART's charter was accepted by the national organization.

Over the years, this dedicated consortium of serious astrology students and professionals has brought in world class speakers, among them: Nancy Bahlman, Robert Corre, Priscilla Costello, Pat Geisler, Elizabeth Hazel, Brad Kochunas, Darri Low-Murphy, Raymond A. Merriman, Carole Ray, Ricki Reeves, Richard Smoot and Leigh Westin. SMART provides the local astrological community with countless opportunities to learn, network and form lasting friendships. It is not necessary to be a member of NCGR to be on this list or to attend our lectures, although there is usually a discount for NCGR members.
