CONGRATS TO SANDERSON! ONE OF AMERICA'S BEST SCHOOLS!
We always knew it was the case, but US News and World Report has noticed us as well!Sanderson is one of only four WCPSS high schools to earn a coveted silver medal place on the prestigious list of America's Best Schools! Only ten other schools in the entire state achieved Silver Medal status with only two schools earning Gold.
The magazine analyzed 21,786 public high schools in 48 states plus the District of Columbia. Each school was assessed on how its students performed on state tests, how well its minority and disadvantaged students fared compared to their in-state peers and how well it prepares students for college, based on participation in and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests.
Congrats to our wonderful administration, teachers, students and parents!!

As I walked around Holly Days, (awesome job done again this year, by the way!), many of you stopped me to talk about the recent school board policy changes, and how these changes could affect SHS. Our school board member, Carolyn Morrison, would like to hear your concerns. As PTSA President, I would like to know how you feel about these changes as well, and what questions you may have. I am also serving this year as District 6 Board Advisory Chair, so your feedback will go directly from me to Dr. Morrison, or you may communicate directly with her if you wish. Since SHS PTSA is the organization that represents every Parent, Teacher and Student in our school, know that the SHS PTSA is analyzing the effects school board policy decisions make on our school, and will bring you detailed information soon.
