This group is for World Peace Rhythm Project (WPRP) members who practice Buddhism with the SGI (Soka Gakkai International). The SGI is a Buddhist Lay organization whose members chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and follow the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin. In Japanese, "soka gakkai" means "value creation"; the SGI's focus is on peace, culture and education. The WPRP, currently limited to women, plays the traditional West African music of the Malinke people of Guinea W. Africa, in hopes of creating value in society and ultimately helping to attain world peace.
