It is not illegal to smoke Marijuana in public places or in a private dwelling in SF, whether one possesses a MJ Card,
(One may grow up to 15 plants at home in order to self medicate).
or is an Adult (formerlly called "recreational:) user.
Do not smoke MJ in a parked car :
if a passenger or driver has keys to the ignition, there is presumption that the car may be soon driven by someone under the influence, through smoking or "contact high".
Arrest is only justified when other misdemeanor or felony charges are brought against a subject,
(beside concurrent possession or use of MJ),
such as:
* Selling or giving MJ to a minor,
* Juvenile use of MJ,
* Marijuana packaged for sale,
* Parole or probation violations,
* Violation of a Restraining order, etc.
