wPcZqINExIGP_9Vrg==> Gracias Madre LogoOPENING DECEMBER 26th, 2009!
Matthew and Terces Engelhart, founders and owners of Caf Gratitude are
excited to introduce their newest offering, Gracias Madre, serving Organic
Mexican Cuisine to the Mission District of San Francisco.

Gracias Madre is a place for celebration.

We celebrate food. We build our lives around growing, providing and eating
the highest quality, most delectable and nutrient rich organic foods. The
majority of our produce is grown at our Organic, Biodynamic Be Love Farm in
Pleasants Valley, including the non-GMO varieties of heirloom corn we use to
make our handmade tortillas and tamales. We believe that eating local,
organic food prepared simply and with love is medicine for both the body and
spirit.

Gracias Madre is also a place to celebrate, honor and give thanks for all of
the mothers who nourish and feed us in so many ways. This includes of
course, our Mother Earth. Our seasonal menu respects the Earth and her
cycles and showcases local fruit and vegetables at their peak so that our
food is fresh, vibrant and flavorful. Our menu is a collaborative effort
that combines the knowledge, passion and expertise of many of the mothers in
our Gratitude family.

Finally, Gracias Madre celebrates the richness of Mexican culture and foods
that so beautifully shape our neighborhood, the Mission. We are creating a
lively, uplifting meeting place where everyone is welcome to come together
and enjoy vibrant, sustainably harvested food, and one another. Gracias
Madre is a space for people to connect and create community. We support
self expression, community & family building, food and wellness education,
and the transformation of people and of this planet. We are committed to
Acceptance, Unity and Peace in the world.

We've come to serve you, and Our Mission is Love.

1730 Shattuck Ave

That's Why We Don't Eat Animals takes a candid, compassionate look at the
plight of animals on factory farms, using gorgeous artwork and lively text
to introduce vegetarianism and veganism to early readers.
An endearing cast of animals is shown both in their natural state-rooting
around, bonding, nuzzling, cuddling, grooming one another, and charming each
other with their family instincts and rituals-and in the sad conditions of
the factory farm. The book also addresses the effect eating animals has on
our environment, rainforests, and endangered species. At the end, a section
entitled "What Else Can We Do?" suggests ways children can learn more about
the vegetarian and vegan lifestyles.
The boldest step yet in children's literature, this heartfelt, informative
book offers a key resource to inspire parents and children to talk about a
timely, increasingly important subject.

Sacred Commerce Workshop
Business as a Path to Awakening

873830434> What if awakening was the context at your workplace? What if
management meant being accountable for the spiritual emergence of one's
staff as well as the well being of one's company? What if conflicts in your
work community were acknowledged as a chance to heal collective wounds? What
if the mission of your business was to usher in a sustainable, spiritually
fulfilling society. Sacred commerce is the practice of having the Eternal
present in a commercial environment; it is creating money a sacrament and
the exchange of goods and services as a holy opportunity.

Matthew and Terces Engelhart, are the owners of Caf Gratitude LLC, a school
of transformation in the setting of an organic vegan restaurant chain in the
Bay area. With humor, passion, and authenticity the Engelharts will train
participants to (re)create a company that appreciates in value as the work
force collectively practices keeping its attention on Source and supply.
Regardless of your position at work this course will endow you with the
tools to embark on the path of the "realized profit".

Please note that the Sacred Commerce Introduction course is not required for
participation. For now, it is sufficient to read the book to become familiar
with the language.

This two day workshop is offered by donation. You are a student in the
school of transformation, and these are your core classes in this school. We
invite you into this World of Plenty! Let's learn and grow together!

I've been talking with Dr. Paul Fanny, President of the University of
Natural Health. His university has overtaken Clayton College of Natural
Health as the #1 natural health degree school in the US. The curriculum is
pure Natural Hygiene and pro-rawfoods, and its grads have greater success in
helping people get well than any other counselors and doctors.

If you are contemplating an advanced degree for creating a highly successful
career in the natural health field, the University of Natural Health is
undoubtedly the best choice.

Don't buy anything today.

Why not consider what we each may already have to offer at this time of year
when the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer.

How about a Free Computer?

I have a free computer to offer that I would like to set up in someones group
home near the Sonoma area where I live where more than one person could use it.

A Free Piece of Land?

I also have a fine piece of land of about 5 acres in the heart of beautiful
Sonoma County that really is worth about $200,000, and that is all paid off,
that I would like to become my contribution of community land that we can all
share in return for all that I have asked from others over the years, which I am
very grateful for.

Free Home Zone

Good Place to live. All off the grid. We are only asking Thirty Five Dollars a
week per person to support our land maintenance fund.
You don't have to live there all the time for this to be your free home zone.
Then when the big one hits, you will know which way to go.

That is one good thing about having a real connection with a piece of land and
the community of people who live there.

Free Food

I almost always have free food to give anybody who wants it.

In this way we can all begin to pool our lands and our properties and other
resources into Regional Exchange Networks of mutual collaboration to the benefit
of all.

Free Meetup with Kindred Spirits in face time

Grab one of your friends and come on up to our Kindred Spirits Meet, on January
31.

http://edenvillage.net/18.htm - T

Your place in community could start right here.

But section 8 will not work.

this will be airing again in the Bay Area?

It showed on Tuesday night on ch 9.
This show I HIGHLY recommend. They talk about many types of pain and
sickness that can be ~healed~ (yes even chronic illnesses)

check the link below for when will the show come. (left hand side)

This show and other cues keep coming to me to write this email. (The last
email I posted was on how to increase your immunne system)

I don't mean to pick on one particular person, but myself and others have
been trying to address this problem before. (90% of the members don't have
this problem)

So this show is a sign for me to address; that we should be in a caring,
loving supportive environment for the benefit of ourselves and others.

I just want to point out that Janice (the Janice who's a married woman) at
last Sunday's potluck was not shy to sort of publicly voiced out that it's
of ok to chat away non stop while someone is making announcements at our
Living Foods potluck. I asked her 3 times to please keep quiet during the
meeting.

I did not announce her name at the potluck, she pretty much blurted out at
Sunday's potluck what she believed in.

So, if you agree with her, or not agree with her;

"That it's ok to chat away while someone else is trying to make
announcements/give a lecture."

Please inform her and give her your educated opinion.

Several members also ready came to me to tell me that's rude to chat in the
background while someone else is talking. There's some folks out there,
including myself that can not hear clearly if multiply conversations are
going on, especially if the echo is high in the community room. (my doctor
said I don't have a hearing problem)

For those who know me personally, I usually do things for the good of
others, not for personal gains.
I am a honest person with good positive intentions.

If you don't know me; other people in the VARIOUS Bay Area Living Groups do
know me. I do volunteer work with other Living Foods organizations.

(I was one of many people that wanted "cleanliness" in our potlucks. Thanks
to everyone, I think that objective has been improved/accomplished.)

I hope we can eliminate negative stresses and any type of bad environment in
our life; so we can have a better mental and physical health/well being.

Are there any members who own property that would take section 8, starting say
July 1, 2010? Section 8 is a government subsidy; it is guarenteed rent to
owners. If so, please call Lela at (415) 573-7997. Please leave a message(s), as
sometimes my phone doesn't ring long enough, or I might be in the bathroom when
it rings, etc. I have a government subsidy, so rent would be paid each month. I
go to the jccsf and want to live closer in. S.F. is more accesable than the
Foster of those areas. Berkeley wouldn't be bad, but why not S.F. directly? More
about me:

I am raw and vegan; looking for employment. Loaded with skills: teacher,
clerical, sales, deli. Know of anything? Would gladly work any days, any hours,
weekends, evenings etc.

So, if you agree with her, or not agree with her;

In late October 2009, many of us learned for the first time about a proposal
to develop the soccer fields in the western part of Golden Gate Park into a
sports complex with artificial turf, sportsfield lighting, bleachers and
additional parking. The proposal and support for this development have
circulated since April among the soccer community, with time to develop
support among sports fans, both in San Francisco and in the greater Bay
Area. However, a great many San Franciscans do not know about this
project.
The people and groups whose articles and information are referenced in this
website are concerned about the details of this development and the effect
of urbanization on Golden Gate Park as well as on Ocean Beach.
The purpose of this website is to explore these questions and to inform San
Franciscans and everyone who loves Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach about
these issues.

Ask a Scientist [Dec 9]: SF's Primeval Waterscape
Did you know that the southeastern portion of San Francisco was once
dominated by the watersheds of two large creeks, Mission and Islais, while
large parts of the north and west of the city had no creeks at all because
they were covered with sand dunes? Our waterscape has changed dramatically
over the years, from the natural creek- and dune-scape to today's modern
sewersheds. Come learn about the unique features of San Francisco's primeval
waterscape and find out how the city used and abused its many creeks and
lakes as it grew into the modern metropolis we call home. The Oakland Museum
of California's Christopher Richard will explain the geological and
political history of this transformation and will take us on a virtual tour
of the remaining free-running creeks in San Francisco (which you can
visit!).

I don't normally do this, and if you're moved to participate, please accept
my thanks. Elaina is a wonderful person, inside of which she is a great raw
food chef and fabulous mother.
Thank you.

Urgent Request for Elaina Love

Dear Friends,

We are writing on behalf of our dear friend and Living Light Chef
Instructor, Elaina Love. Many of you who are graduates know that besides
being a Master Raw Food chef, Elaina is a beautiful loving person and caring
mother who always gives generously to others.

We were saddened yesterday to hear that her son, Dominic, who has been in a
treatment program for leukemia, has taken a turn for the worse. Dominic was
diagnosed with leukemia on January 15, 2009. He underwent the traditional
cancer treatment of chemotherapy, radiation, and bone marrow transplant, and
he seemed to be responding well, until recently, when the leukemia suddenly
and aggressively returned. There is nothing more to do in the medical arena.

Elaina has faith in the body's ability to heal itself, so she took Dominic
to Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida for 3 weeks where he will eat a
completely green, raw, vegan diet of juices, daily wheatgrass implants, and
oxygen therapy. She is there with him now and will remain there with him
through it all.

This program is very costly, starting at $20,000 for the first three weeks
of expenses, so we at Living Light would like to invite you to participate
in a fundraising effort for Elaina. If you choose to participate, you can
donate as little as $5 to this campaign. If you donate $20 or more through
the Living Light fundraising campaign for Elaina and Dominic, we will enter
your name in a raffle to win your choice of a FREE FUNdamentals of Raw and
Living Foods class (a $365 value), or 2 tickets for the Vibrant Living Expo
and Culinary Showcase, August 27-29, 2010 (a $450 value).

100% of all proceeds will go directly to Elaina Love to help with Dominic's
expenses. We have set up an easy way to donate funds - you can put it on
your credit card by clicking on the link below to contribute in increments
of as little as $5 (every little bit helps!) We know that this is a
challenging time for us to ask you for money, but if you or someone you know
has been touched by Elaina and her gentle and joyful presence, or you simply
would like to be an Angel this holiday season and help someone whose young
life hangs in the balance, please consider helping Elaina and her only child
in their time of need. We greatly appreciate anything you can do and most of
all we appreciate your warm wishes and all your prayers. Thank you for your
kind and generous support of our beautiful sister, Elaina, and her wonderful
son, Dominic.

This came from a Permaculture list I'm on and seemed relevant to the Living
Foods community --

Heyall,

This coming weekend is the Mycological Society of San Francisco's 40th
annual Fungus Fair, this year in a new venue at UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall
of Science.

This is the world's largest Fungus Fair, right in the hills above UC
Berkeley, just up the road from the UC Botanical Gardens and the stadium.
Normally, we are at the Oakland Museum, but they are undergoing remodeling
for the next three years.

We'll have lectures, culinary and cultivation demos, specialty mushroom
tables for introduction, identification, microscopy, edible, medicinal,
psychoactive, dye and fiber, cultivation, ecology, toxicology, and lichens.
There will be mushroom foods, multitudes of display mushrooms arranged
taxonomically to learn their relationships, vendors of all sorts of mushroom
products and art, a kids' and families' room, and photo opportunities
galore. You can bring in your mushrooms to get them identified and hang out
with over three thousand of your fellow mushroom enthusiasts that come to
the Fungus Fair over the weekend each year.

If you would like to incorporate fungi into your permaculture repertoire the
Fungus Fair is the number one place to learn how to do it. Bring your
friends and family and help put the fun in fungus.

For further info please check the mssf.org <http://mssf.org/> website.

Thanks Ken
