This listserv was established in the interest of fostering communication within the Sangha and is for the exclusive use of members of the San Francisco Insight Meditation Community (SFI).

The purpose of this group is to support our liberation and the building of community through announcements and posts relevant to SFI and Sangha members. Please be mindful of that intention when posting messages to this group.

Posts are not intended for commercial product advertising or sales. We do support members in personal or commercial pursuits or programs, particularly those which support meditation practice and the teaching of The Dharma.

Some posts may warrant a reply. Please consider the value of a "reply" to only the original poster versus a “reply all” which will reach hundreds of members.

At times members may write something that you perceive to be objectionable. Please bear in mind that the member may not have intended to cause offense. E-mail posts are often misinterpreted and self-restraint is a useful tool. Sometimes pressing the “delete” key is the most skillful response.

For all posts or replies, please consider these elements of “wise speech:” tell the truth, speak with kindness and warmth, and only when necessary.
