The San Francisco Bay Unschooling Network (SFBUN) is a support group for unschoolers and homeschoolers who are interested in exploring an unschooling approach.

Unschooling can be described as Whole Life Learning. Children are born with a thirst for learning, and learning thrives in environments in which there is trust and freedom. SFBUN's mission is to create and support an unschooling community in the San Francisco Bay Area. For this reason, the SFBUN Yahoo group is open only to unschooling families and homeschooling families who are exploring unschooling. We do not accept advertisements or commercial endorsements. We ask that the SFBUN Yahoo group be used for sharing information and discussing topics of interest to unschoolers, and that more "school-ish" items be sent to other lists.

SFBUN meets regularly around the San Francisco Bay Area for game days, potlucks, and other fun outings and get-togethers, with an emphasis on having fun! We strive to create opportunities for unschooling families to play together, make new connections, develop close friendships, and enjoy the freedom of living an unschooled life.
