Hi Kim!

Easier to bathe a smooth-coated dog like a Boxer!  I dread having to bathe my hairy aussies!  They are due, though!

Hi Betsy,

We're not experiencing the problem but when we have suspected fleas or seen tick(s) from a walk in other areas we have used pine tar soap (without creosote from Whole Foods).  It doesn't smell great but doesn't leave a bad smell on them after rinsed.  I've also shaved it and put it in a spray bottle to use between baths if needed.  It's supposed to be good for their skin too.  Here is the one I got at Whole Foods:

Hope you're doing well.  I'll be ordering more Bravo next time as my huge supply is finally dwindling :-)

Thanks for all you do.

Hi Everyone,

Since I live in the country and take the dogs hiking through a pasture, we are definitely suffering from ticks. I don't think we are currently having a flea problem, but friends and family are reporting that their dogs are itching more these days and they're assuming fleas. I use my cats as the barometer as to whether we actually have fleas; a flea combing of the rump will usually reveal flea dirt and actual fleas if there are any. However, the raw-fed cats and dogs seem pretty resistant and I haven't found any evidence in a long time.
I only use Frontline or Advantage out of desperation when things are really bad, especially with the ticks (Frontline). I'm curious to know of all of you raw feeders, have you been having flea/tick troubles, and if so, do you end up using a top-spot product or do you try to use natural remedies?

Since I am using this supply company to get Bravo and other foods, I discovered I can get generic Frontline, called Fiproguard. I am still waiting on the pricing from my rep since they only list the price but not the number of doses that price is for in their price book. If it is for 3 doses, then my price would be $22 for the X-lg size and no shipping on top of that, of course. I use the largest size and then dose out the right amount per dog with a syringe.

I can get all kinds of products from the supply company, from food to grooming aids, shampoos, supplements, etc. I'd like to build the business up, so if you have any favorite products and are interested, let me know what you use and I'll see if I can get it and give you a quote.

Thanks!
Betsy
