Senior Mothers of Coerced Adoption Surrender; Empowered, Wiser and Demanding Justice
MISSION STATEMENT
This is a group for Activist Women in the United States who are seeking acknowledgment, recognition and possible redress for being forced to surrender their newborn infants for adoption during the time period from World War II to the passage of Roe vs. Wade in 1973. The passage of that landmark piece of legislation indicated a change in attitudes, outlook and other legislation that allowed women rights and options that were unheard of prior to that time and are taken for granted today. We are solely about these goals. We are not activists for open records for adoptees, nor are our efforts directed towards the adoption practices of later years and today.

The Sound Of Wise Women
Wise women, we are these days,
Once young, strong, fertile and vital.
Hair of chestnut, gold, raven, sandy brown and red,
Now gray or white or salt and pepper,
Even if concealed by Clairol's best...
...It took us years to find our voices, to come to that epiphany,
To know that it was not our sin, but our victimization.
It took us years to be again with our children, grown, familiar strangers.
But with the years comes wisdom,
And with wisdom comes courage, the courage to speak,
The courage to confront, stand tall and take what is ours by right.
You are hearing the sound of Wise Women shouting,
And they shout for Justice, Redress, Acknowledgement,
And the righting of wrongs that are not forgotten.
Those wrongs echo with the pealing bells of a legion of Mothers' righteous indignation,
The many-voiced Sound of Wise Women.
