Description

For people who want to learn, use, and contribute to Spiral Dynamics and the cyclic-emergence theories of Dr Clare W. Graves.

Membership is open, but messages from new members are reviewed to screen out spammers. Please keep your messages within the following guidelines:

* On this list the term Spiral Dynamics covers the work and theories of both Don Beck and Chris Cowan, co-authors of the book "Spiral Dynamics". Don Beck owns the term SDi (Spiral Dynamics integral), for his own material. Be aware that Chris and Don no longer speak to each other; list members who know Spiral Dynamics through one of them might know nothing about the views of the other one.

* Stay on topic; if your message is not directly about Spiral Dynamics spell out why you think it's relevant. Spiral Dynamics is more about how humans think than what we're thinking.

* Be polite. That includes learning and following Net conventions, such as using descriptive subject lines and deleting irrelevant quoted material from your messages. Recognise that your messages go to people whose vMeme makeup, life experience, life conditions, and fluency with written English might be very different from your own.

* When you post an article from somewhere on the Net, say why you think it's relevant to the list. E.g. If it illustrates something about the model, say what it illustrates. Different views and examples are illuminating for different people: other list members might need help to see your insights.

* Notices and reports about events of interest to list members are welcome. If you have a financial interest in an event, please disclose it.

If I think one of your messages is outside list guidelines I'll email you and tell you why I think so. After that it's up to you. In the worst case, if you persistently post messages that I think are harming the list, I'll ban you. Fortunately worst cases are rare.
