This list is for discussion of all aspects of the hobby of monitoring radio communications ("scanning") 25 MHz and above in Northern and Central California (and adjacent areas). Our primary emphasis is on Public Safety and Public Service systems at all levels (local, state, federal) including police, fire, EMS, Public Works, etc.

Besides the email list itself, we have access to all previously posted messages, Files and Links that everyone is invited to browse AND ADD TO. They're accessible thru the list on the left of this page. You'll find frequency lists, trunking information, unit designations...all kinds of stuff.

Due to past SPAM problems, all new members to the list are placed on 'moderated' status until we get to know you.

With the increased Homeland Security issues post-9/11/01, many agencies have become more sensitive about their systems. Therefore, please consider what it is you are posting (and archiving). For example, repeated system input frequency and access codes should not be posted.

Posts in violation of this policy may be removed, and the poster placed on 'moderated' status without further warning.
