Which is another thing,  What is $35 there?

here it is an inexpensive night out. a few drinks at the bar (and for many a few drinks at the bar,is a daily occurrence, so 35 is not much out of the budget)  but some places it buys more than a weeks groceries, and represents a big chunk.

For students here (and everywhere) it is also harder to come by.

Which is why the family thing was nice, friends could be a family and get the cost down per individual

Josh is right, none of us are exactly rolling in money, and paying $35 for a
newsletter that only lists events that are in other countries is just hard to
justify.

Its 137 NIS or so. Not a huge but not trivial ether. Its maybe half a tank of gas, or dinner for 2 at a nice resturant. (Actually that would be a bit less)....
