::Together Admiral Reider and Hollis approach, Commander Hebron. Taking the big man's arm, Hollis turns him to face the room, as a hush falls across those assembled. By the time reider speaks everyone waits in anticipation.::
REIDER: I think you'll all find it amusing to note that this is the second promotion I've done in one week. ::Smirking:: With that said, let me introduce myself: Admiral Luke Reider. Being that most of you have been away from StarBase 118 for a month, at least, you haven't gotten the chance to meet me personally. I hope to get to know all of you that would have me, in the coming years. The door to my office is always open... even though I'm usually never there!
REIDER: Anyway, I'm happy to announce that as most of you know Commander Xan Hebron has filled all necessary requirements for the promotion to Captain.
REIDER: But beyond just filling requirements, he has exceeded them. As you all well know, he has just manuevered a tough ship through a tougher situation, and come out alive. Through the past few months he has helped guide the crew of the Tiger through adversity with a steady hand. His acheivements have not gone unnoticed by his former captain, or by StarFleet. Commander Hebron, please come forward.
::The Admiral gently opens the small black box that was waiting for him on the table, and picks up the shiny filled pip. Xan approaches and waits quietly, his hands behind his back.::
REIDER: StarFleet hereby bestows the rank of Captain, with all it's priviledges and responsibilities on you, Xan Hebron. Congratulations.
::Deftly, Luke pins the pip on. It's obvious he's done this more than once. He extends his hand to Hebron.::
REIDER: Good work. Hope to see great things from you in the future.
::They shake hands, as the group applauds. Hebron turns, heading back to his seat. Reider stops him, grabbing his shoulder gently.::
REIDER: Oh, by the way...
::The new captain looks to the Admiral, a bit confused. Luke turns to one of the security detail, which is waiting by the door of the conference room. The head officer hands him a PADD.::
REIDER: These are the specifications of the USS Constitution-B, your new ship.
::Hebron's eyes widen.::
REIDER: You might want to have your crew pack up. She'll be here within a few hours...
::Chuckling, the Admiral hands the PADD to Xan. It contains the full rundown of the new ship, including the time of arrival, it's first mission specifications, and information on the new crewmembers and families that will be merging with Hebron's current officers. There is more applause, as the excited crew stand, hoping to see what's on the PADD. Just a few minutes later, the slightly illegal alcoholic drinks are brought out and the crew celebrates.::
HEBRON: [response]
REIDER: Well, good luck. And remember, you can contact me if you need anything at all. The StarBase keeps a close eye on me. ::Smiling::

Kare'en: Lt. Townson, Za-- I mean, Ensign Trean. Do you mind if I
join you?
::after seeing him come in she smiles as he approaches::
Trean: please Kar, sit and get comfortable this could take a while.
(she picks up her mug and sips) How did you sleep?
Kare'en: Not very well, I'm afraid.
Trean: I know what you mean it was a short night. (she sips again)
but I am told that coffee is a good eye opener.
Kare'en: It's a little too strong for me on an empty stomach.
Trean: Its a little strong but I kind of like it.
::she glances around the room at the various activities going around::
Trean: it seems like its about to start..
::As Captain Hollis, Cmdr Hebron and an unknown admiral work their
way to the center of the room, Kare'en notices that Lt. Townson takes
a quick anxious sweep around the room.::
Kare'en: <I wonder who she's waiting for. And where they are.>
::Captain Hollis begins to speak and the room falls silent. The
small party's attention is riveted to the center of the room. A
simple and sober ceremony unfolds, a way of remembering the lost
without trapping the crew in the past.::
Kare'en: <What is that Captain Hollis is saying? "We are all
officers of Star Fleet and Servants to the Federation. Service is not
easy. Yet, the ideals we strive for are worthy of sacrifice." He's
right. Star Fleet is like a family. I didn't know the crew the
TIGER lost, but it doesn't matter. They were my sisters too, my
brothers that died.>
::Kare'en is so caught up in his meditation that the explosion of the
torpedoes startle him and he lets out a quiet gasp.::
Hebron: To those that we have lost, we salute and raise our banners.
We speak about them to our children and even though they are gone,
their memory lives within us. I remember Counselor Lowe said to me
once that a life is an eternal flame, it can never be distinguished.
We salute their efforts and their courage in the face of opposition.
I have grown from knowing all of them. ::He turned to where the
torpedoes exploded.:: May your journeys never end my friends.
::Kare'en notices Lt. Townson sit up in her chair as Cmdr. Hebron
mentions Lowe's name.::
Kare'en: <The way Cmdr. Hebron says Lowe's name. It's like he's --
He *is*... I wonder if Lt. Townson knows? Did she pick up on how
the Commander said those words?>
::As the string music begins to play, Kare'en sees a small tear roll
down Townson's cheek.::
Kare'en: <She knows...>
::As the music comes to an end, Captain Hollis speaks again.::
Hollis: "Let us remember, and treasure all the more the life that
has been given to us. Life is for living. Embrace it."

::Hollis steps back and nods to Hebron. The large Brikar stepped forward and nodded to the throng of crew in ten forward. He remembered how long it had been since a group had gathered here for this. It seemed ages ago, but it really was not that long. They had fought hard to be here. He was luck and so were the crew of the Tiger. He breathed a sigh and spoke.::
Hebron: For the years that I have been aboard this ship, it has always been a privilage to be at a promotion ceremony. It seemed as Vedok, and now Hollis, went and promoted the individuals for the bravery and courage, a sense of pride seemed as if to overwhelm me as well. Now it seems that it is my honor to pay tribute to those bave souls that aided in the rescue of many, not worried about the dangers it posed to themselves. I salute you.
::He paused as the crews broke out in applause.::
Hebron: Ensign Shiran, please step forward. ::The Ensign stood and strode towards the Brikar.:: Ensign Shiran, it is my privalage and honor to promote you to Lt. Jg,. For your courage and bravery under fire. ::He pinned on the full pip and applauded with the rest.::
Hebron: Ensign Davis, please step out and be recognized. ::The Ensign mad his way down.:: Ensign Davis, for your act of duty I promote you to Lt. jg. Congratulations. ::Hebron placed the full pip on the man's uniform and joined in with the applause.::
Hebron: Ensign Firewind, please rise and join me here. ::Hebron noticed the limp in the doctors walk.:: Your dedication to Starfleet has not gone unnoticed. I promote you to Lt. jg. ::He pinned the pip on the man's uniform and applauded with the others.::
Hebron: Lt. jg Rourke. Please come forward. ::Hebron noticed the sad look in the young man's eyes.:: Mr. Rourke. For your leadership through this mission, I promote you to full Lt. ::Everyone applauded the promotion.::
Hebron: Lt.jg Dacht, please come forward. ::Dacht to limped noticeably, even though she tried to conceal it.:: Dacht, due to your acts of heroism, I promote you to Full Lt. Congratulations. ::THe applause and Hebron sw the smile on T'Lara's face.::
Hebron: Finally. Lt. Townson, please make your way to the Dias. ::He watched her approach.:: Lt. Your acts of leadership and dedication to this crew have not gone unnoticed. It is my honor to promote you at this time to Lt. Commander. ANd may God have mercy on your soul. ::He pinned the pip on her uniform as those around stood and applauded.::

(USS KODIAK)
Anassasi: Lt. Rourke, I'd like to introduce you to Kodiak's favourite
man of mystery, Lt. Hurne.
::She smiles mischievously at Jordan.::
Rourke: (Smiles and offers hand) It's nice to meet you Lt Hurne.
HURNE: (Being pulled back to the present) "What.. oh sorry Jordan
Hurne"
Anassasi: Jordan? Are you alright?
HURNE: Me I'm fine. Can I get you two a drink?
:: Rourke was about to nod but Hurne didn't give him the chance
calling over the waitress almost immediately. ::
HURNE: What's your poison?
Anassasi: Risian prush tea, please.
Rourke: I'll have an orange juice.
:: When the crewman came back and passed him his drink, Rourke
quietly thanked him. ::
HURNE: I hear though the ships com. You to have become an item. I'm
pleased for you both.
:: This intrigued Rourke, for Hurne to have heard this fast he must
be pretty well connected on the ships grapevine. Pushing his thoughts
aside he simply smiled raising his glass to his lips. He turned his
head to look at Anassasi, meeting her eyes. In those short seconds of
connection the world around him once again became mute. As she broke
the connection to listen to Hurne he glanced at her lips, seriously
considering just pulling her to him and kissing her for all he was
worth. ::
Hurne: ...Lt. Com Jacob?
Jessa: No. Why? Should I?
HURNE: No reason just your name came up in a conversation I was
having on sub space earlier."
:: Having been distracted, Rourke didn't know what they were talking
about, so he simply stayed smiling and took another sip of his drink.
He turned as Anassasi motioned someone to come over, watching as a
female Ensign made her way over to them. ::
Anassasi: Have either of you met our new counsellor, Ensign Landrum?
Ensign, I am Chief of Security, Jessa Anassasi. And these are Lts
Jordan Hurne and Mike Rourke.
:: Raising his glass to her slightly, Rourke nodded in greeting. Just
behind her he noticed a male Ensign looking over towards them,
specifically at Anasassi, a look on his face that seemed to show
emotion that was anything but happy. Deciding he'd ask her about it
later he turned back to the others. ::
OOC: Going to take bit's out of both posts to try to combine as best
as I can, as they differ.
HURNE: We've already meet. Sorry if I was a bit hard on you earlier
today. It was just when you walked into the shuttle bay my heart
missed a bit or two. I was sure you where history. :: nodding out the
window to the stars::. One of them could have been you. :: Lightning
up a little. ::. Well anyone fancy another, Ensign you don't even
have one.
Landrum: It seems everybody is having fun.
HURNE: Good. What was your job on the Tiger Mike.
Rourke: I was the helm officer, so apart from being a mystery man
what do you do?
Hurne: Response.
Rourke: Ahh we...
:: He trailed off as Hollis began the memorial service and a silence
descended over ten forward. ::
Hollis: We are all officer's of Star Fleet and Servants to the
Federation. Service is not easy. Yet, the ideal's we strive for are
worthy of sacrifice. For some the sacrifice has been onto their
lives. Let us remember those who have fallen and measure ourselves by
their example. If even stars die, then death comes to all. What is
left is the light cast by those lives travelling eternal through the
universe and reflected in our hearts.
:: Rourke lowered his head in respect of the memory of his fellow
officers who had fallen in the line of duty, only looking up as the
Torpedoes launched from the now stopped Kodiak. He watched as Hebron
stepped forward. ::
Hebron: To those that we have lost, we salute and raise our banners.
We speak about them to our children and even though they are gone,
their memory lives within us. I remember Counsellor Lowe said to me
once that a life is an eternal flame, it can never be distinguished.
We salute their efforts and their courage in the face of opposition.
I have grown from knowing all of them.:: He turned to where the
torpedoes exploded.:: May your journeys never end my friends.
Rourke: oO Lowe, dead. Oo
:: Clutching his glass a little tighter Rourke fought not to show the
emotions flowing through him. There wasn't meant to be any more
death, especially not Lowe. He was a good man, a loyal officer and an
even better friend. People like him aren't meant to die, they're
meant to live and have families and die of old age. Moving slightly,
he took Anassasi's free hand in his own simply needing the connection
to keep his anger and grief in check. They hadn't discussed public
signs of their new relationship or in fact anything about their new
relationship but he hoped she'd understand his need for the simple
comfort holding her hand offered him. ::

::Hollis looks to his left and right. T'lara stood in Hebron's
shadow, while Lcmd M'gret, and Servik stood just a meter or so away
talking. Stepping forward, Hollis taps his communicator and links it
to the Lounges internal communication system.::
Hollis: "Hello, we are gathering today to honor the living and dead.
It has been a turbulent time."
::At the Bajoran's careful words the room falls silent. As he speaks
Hollis drifts forward so he stands in front of the Admiral, with the
command staff of Tiger, and Kodiak arrayed to his left and right. ::
Hollis: "We are all officer's of Star Fleet and Servants to the

::As Hollis speaks the Kodiak drops from Warp so that the million
stream lights, become pin points in the night. From Kodiak's fore a
score of torpedoes disappear into the dark, and then silently explode
into momentary Stars. In the an instant they are gone and all that is
left is their memory::
::Hebron took this moment from Hollis. THey had discussed what was to be
done. He stepped forward and faced those gathered.::
Hebron: To those that we have lost, we salute and raise our banners. We
speak about them to our children and even though they are gone, their memory

::With that the quartet played on something low and light. As the crew

Commander Xan Hebron
Adrift.
Cheliz: (smiling) Mind if I join you?
Daker: Not at all, have a seat.
::Cheliz took a seat across from him to have a conversation.::
Cheliz: So, how are you doing?
Daker: I'm still feeling little dirty but otherwise ok. How about
yourself, sir?
Cheliz: Please, don't call me sir while we're off duty and waiting
for a ceremony to begin. You may call me Cheliz.
::Feeling a little sheepish, Dakar smiles and nods in confirmation::
Daker: Sure thing, Cheliz.
::Realizing she just said something that made her officer feel a bit
awkward, she smiled at him.::
Cheliz: I'm feeling fine by the way. When you said you feel a bit
dirty, what did you mean?
Daker: Well, this was my first mission, and aside from holodeck
simulations I've never been exposed to blood. In the past two days,
I've seen a dead Norsican, several dead Breen and I've had to perform
first aid on several of my fellow Officers.
Cheliz: I see. It's hard when you have to do that.
::Before Dakar could respond to her comment, a waitress came back and
took their orders. Dakar ordered a synth-ale and Cheliz ordered some
iced tea with a light touch of lemon. On Earth Dakar enjoyed a good
ale in social situations. He prefers the real thing, for it's self
esteem enhancing qualities. But Dakar was opening up nicely.::
Daker: I'm glad to see you got some medical attention.
::At that comment, Cheliz could feel herself becomming angry as her
face grew hotter. She hated even the thought of receiving medical
attention much less talking about it if it meant she had received
it. It was just one too many times it was mentioned to her and she
was beginning to lose her cool.::
Dakar: Or did they force it on you? Anyway, I'm sure you don't want
to talk about it.
::Seeing the fear in the young Ensign's eyes, she had to remind
herself that this was her officer and one day, her life would depend
upon him. The waitress came by and gave them their beverages and she
calmed herself down, trying to keep the optimistic front she had
worked so hard to hold up throughout the whole party so far.::
Cheliz: (taking a deep breath) I appologize Daker. It's just that,
on my home world, my classmates and instructors would torment me
every time they found out I've been in any medical facility so I've
grown accustomed to avoiding medical care whenever possible.
::Cheliz took a sip of her tea and looked at her crutches, now laying
down on the floor and then moving her attention to her cast. She
hated them with a passion. They symbolized to her how weak she was.
So weak she couldn't even resist the Doctors or the Nurses. Now that
she has them, they've been drawing a type of attention she's always
hated. It was the type that made people want to help her out more or
made them feel sorry for her just because she's injured. She hated
it since they had their own duties to perform and they'd be putting
their duties off to take on some of the burden of her own duties.::
Dakar: I'm sorry I brought it up, but this isn't Q'onoS, you have
nothing to be ashamed of.
::Cheliz listened to the words of this young Ensign and drank some
more of her tea. It was the same exact words Lt. CMD T'Lara spoke to
her however, for some reason, they didn't seem to comfort her or get
rid of her fear of sickbay or her hatred of the crutches. A silence
fell upon the two of them and was broken when the memorial service
began.::
Hollis: "We are all officer's of Star Fleet and Servants to the

stream lights, become pin points in the night. From Kodiak's fore a
score of torpedoes disappear into the dark, and then silently explode
into momentary Stars. In an instant they are gone and all that is
left is their memory::
::Cheliz watched and listened to the symbolism her former Captain was
trying to represent. As her first assignment on the Kodiak, she was
faced with many challenges. Fresh out of the Academy, she was
determined to serve the crew to the best of her abilities. Captain
Hollis saw that in her and decided to help her to expand her talents
and give her a chance to let her light shine. Only a week after
meeting with the Kodiak at SB118, Lt. CMD Graves was transferred to
another ship and she had been placed as the Chief of Security and had
taken charge from where Graves left off in the middle of a very
strange double murder investigation of the same man who ended up
having many clones of himself. She helped in weeding out the under
cover Orion Syndicate members, and even, with most effort comming
from the Kodiak, helped destroyed three Breen ships that had set up a
trap for them. Then she was transferred to the Tiger and had to
leave many of her friends behind, including her fiance, Ensign
Thrawn. As the CoS of the Tiger, the challenges became harder as she
had to learn to cope with being away from them and getting used to
the crew of the Tiger. Now she feels partly responsible for the
Breen escaping from the brig and killing even more of the crew.
Never in her life did she have to face so much death and
destruction. It was even the first time she faced her own death head
on. All of this would disappear in history and become only memories
in the future. The memories would live on as long as she lives on
and once she dies, they'll continue but fade as time goes by, like
the light from the torpedos. It lasted until the torpedos exploded
but as time went on, it faded away.::

::Jelani awoke to the sound of voices and looked up
through tired eyes at the sickbay around him. He had
needed the rest and was glad he was talked into it.
Although he knew he needed more he slowly sat up,
feeling only a faint soreness as an unfamiliar nurse
approached him::
Nurse: You really should get more rest.
Firewind: (standing) How are my patients?
Nurse: (sighing) They are being well treated..
Firewind: Good, Payoor seems to be an excellent
doctor.
Nurse: Indeed.
::Jelani heard a familiar voice and smiled seeing it
was Quanzel.::
Shiran: Greetings. How is your leg?
Firewind: A lot better.
Shiran: I see. Nurse, can he be released for the
awards ceremony?
Nurse: I don't see why not. Just as long as he
promises me he'll
take a medical leave of absense, avoid running or any
strenous
activities until his own Assistant allows him to come
back on duty.
(eyes Doctor Firewind)
Firewind: I suppose its only fair, considering I would
ask the same of anyone else in my condition.
Shiran: Thank you nurse. Jelani, we don't have much
time, the
ceremony will begin soon.
Firewind: Ill be ready in a moment, let me just go get
changed. I dont really want to arrive in this torn up
thing.
::Jelani quickly walked to a replicator and had it
produce a fresh dress uniform, he took it to the back
and changed quickly. He stopped in front of the mirror
and noticed his relatively grungy appearance. He
washed his face and straitened his uniform before
walking back out to Quanzel, reasoning that he would
take a shower after the ceremony.::
Shiran: Impressive Doctor. It's much better than
your torn up one
that you had on at the station.
Firewind: (smiles) I may need a shower but I agree it
does look and feel a lot better. I suppose we should
get to the ceremony though before they start without
us.
Shiran: Yes, I agree. We must not be late for the
ceremony.
::Jelani walked with Quanzel through the corridores
and they arrived
at 10 Forward, which was getting more crowded with
people by the
minute. He took a moment to look her over as she
looked around and noted how beautiful she looked,
before catching himself with a smile and leading her
to a table where they sat down and began to talk.::
Firewind: So hows your leg?
Shiran: It's fine. I've experienced some minor pains
from the
surgery however, they should go away soon.
::Quanzel's eyes turned from a solid purple color to
striped purple
and white as the white striped this time showed her
curiousity.::
Shiran: I'm curious Doctor, Nurse Hakret informed me
you wanted to
discuss something with me however, he never told me
what it was.
What is it that you wanted to talk to me about?
::Jelani paused for a moment at the question. He
looked at her thoughtfully and pondered. What would
she think if she knew how he really felt about her,
about his new found feelings and the joy it brought
him when he was with her. His head lowered slightly.
Maybe it wouldnt even affect her..after all, she
barely showed any emotion most of the time, maybe she
would just tell him it was illogical to feel the way
he did....but how long could he hide the ever growing
feelings he had toward her..He sighed slightly in
releif as a waitor approached and asked for their
order.::
Firewind: Oh..I..uh..ill have an orange juice
please...
Waitor: And for the Lady?
Shiran: (response)
::As she ordered Jelani's face grew slightly red at
another thought...what was the extent of her
telepathic ability....::

::Quanzel stood looking out the windows in 10 Forward as the Tiger
and Kodiak crews crowded in. The blackness outside of the window
allowed it to become a sort of mirror and she could see herself
standing there and whoever was behind her. She found a small spot on
the front of her dress tactical uniform so she rubbed it out with a
napkin and threw it away. Looking back up in the window, she noticed
that a small strand of hair from her white stripe had strayed out of
place so she put it back into place and ran her fingers through her
shiny, coal black hair and adjusted the two braids that started in
the front and joined in the back. As more people began to file in,
Quanzel figured it was about time for Doctor Firewind to be finished
getting his leg treated in sickbay so she made her way there to meet
him as she promised. She left the party and found the good Doctor in
sickbay talking to one of the nurses. She approached the two of them
to see if he was going to be alright.::

uniform for himself and goes into a back room to get changed and
cleaned up for the ceremony. She was impressed at the short amount
of time it took for him to get prepared. To any other species, he

Kare'en: <I can't believe it's only been a month since they took of
the cadet insignia and pinned on this pip. It's amazing that a
little piece of metal can mean so much. You think about it, a lot of
crew of the TIGER gave their lives for everything this pip stands
for -- Starfleet, the Federation, everything. I wish I could have
gotten to know the TIGER and her crew better before... Well, just
*before*...>
::He takes one last look in the mirror to make sure that his coat is
straight and his hair is presentable and heads to 10 Forward.::
((Ten Forward))
::As the doors swooshed open, Kare'en took a quick glance around the
room. Small groups of people were milling about or were seated at
tables, talking in subdued voices while waiting for the ceremony to
begin. Near the center of the room he saw the Captain of the KODIAK
and an admiral speaking to each other. Commander Hebron's large form
dominated the room without intending to do so, and next to him stood
Lt. Cmdr T'Lara. Before he could raise the barrier in his mind, his
mild empathatic abilities receives a wave of emotion from the two.
Color came to his cheeks to have picked up, even unintentionally, a
little of the bond that Hebron and T'Lara now shared.::
::He scanns the crowd for more familiar faces, or at least for people
he felt more comfortable approaching. He finally noticed Lt. Townson
and Ensign Trean at a table and decides to go over to them.::
Kare'en: Lt. Townson, Za-- I mean, Ensign Trean. Do you mind if I

::Even a sonic shower and a new clean uniform couldn't replace the complete
filth Dakar felt after seeing and touching so many dead bodies. But Dakar
himself was unharmed, so he picked himself up and headed to 10 forward for
the promotion ceremony.
Upon his arrival he noticed alot of full tables. Being as shy as he is,
Dakar decided to sit at a corner table by himself. He wasn't alone for more
than a couple of minutes before Lieutenant Dacht approached him.::
Cheliz: (smiling) Mind if I join you?
Daker: Not at all, have a seat.
::Cheliz took a seat across from him to have a conversation.::
Cheliz: So, how are you doing?
Daker: I'm still feeling little dirty but otherwise ok. How about yourself,

Cheliz: Please, don't call me sir while we're off duty and waiting

::Feeling a little sheepish, Dakar smiles and nods in confirmation::
Daker: Sure thing, Cheliz.
::Realizing she just said something that made her officer feel a bit
awkward, she smiled at him.::
Cheliz: I'm feeling fine by the way. When you said you feel a bit
dirty, what did you mean?
Daker: Well, this was my first mission, and aside from holodeck simulations
I've never been exposed to blood. In the past two days
(OOC- I'm assuming it was about two days, correct me if I'm wrong), I've
seen a dead Norsican, several dead Breen and I've had to perform first aid
on several of my fellow Officers.
Cheliz: I see. It's hard when you have to do that.
::Before Dakar could respond to her comment, a waitress came back and
took their orders. Dakar ordered a synth-ale and Cheliz ordered some
iced tea with a light touch of lemon.
On Earth Dakar enjoyed a good ale in social situations. He prefers the real
thing, for it's self esteem enhancing qualities. But Dakar was opening up
nicely.::
Daker: I'm glad to see you got some medical attention.
::As Cheliz's face blushed with anger, Dakar tried to stop the raging
Klingon fire.::
Dakar: Or did they force it on you? Anyway, I'm sure you don't want to talk
about it.
Cheliz: Respond.
Dakar: I'm sorry I brought it up, but this isn't Q'onoS, you have nothing to
be ashamed of.

::Hebron spotted Hollis and the Admiral and excused himself from AU. She
seemed preoccupied with Davis anyway. He shook his head a little at her and
her replies about the promotion ceremony. Hebron felt that this was just
what the crew of the Tiger needed to boost the moral a little. It seemed to
him that since the attack, the Tiger crew, no, his crew, seemed as if they
were left out, or wondering without a place to call home. <<I need to keep
an eye on AU. Might want to mention her to Lowe.>> He stopped for a minute
and caught himself. The man he knew as Lowe was one of the casualties.::
::Lowe had been killed by one of the escaped Breen. Ever since their
escape, Hebron had felt at fault for the deaths that were caused by their
hands. He could not shake that. He would have to call the young ensign's
family and inform them that their son would not come home again. The cost
of leadership is surely high. He made his way to where the Hollis and the
Admiral were talking.::

Hebron: That is great. I am so glad.
Jessica: Now I feel almost complete again.
T'Lara: Jessica, I'm glad that you feel that way, and I am very excited to have you become a part of my family. We will have to contact my parents so they can meet you.
Hebron: Thank you. T'Lara. I can tell that Jessica is overjoyed.
T'Lara: It's nothing Xan. I can't think of somone I'd rather have as a sister than her. I know that my blood sisters will embrace her, and my parents will be delighted by her. She seems to need family. It's the least thing I can do.
Hebron: No matter. You have given her something I could not.
T'Lara: What can I say to that? She means a lot to me, Xan.
::Hebron saw Au walk in. He motioned to her to join he and the rest. She came over. T'Lara smiled at her and excused herself from the crowd when she noticed Lt. Cheliz come in on her crutches. She could sense that the young Klingon was not happy about them, but she was putting up a good front.::
T'Lara: How are you, Lt.?

T'Lara: Don't worry about that. This isn't the Klingon Homeworld. You're amongst friends. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask me.

((OOC: Ensign Daker, be sure to respond to the conversation in the
middle of this sim and it will help you get caught up with the sim.))
::Cheliz laid in her bed and concentrated on getting used to the pain
her breathing was causing her. The doctors had done a good job in
repairing the broken ribs and whatever damage she had as a result of
combating the Breen but even after the surgery, her ribs were still
tender. Soon, nurse Hakret finally arrived with a new cast, some
crutches and a hypo spray.::
Hakret: Ok, before I put this cast on your leg, you need to get
cleaned up for the upcomming promotional ceremony.
Cheliz: A promotional ceremony? Who's going to be promoted?
Hakret: I don't know. Here let me help you up. Have you used
crutches before?
Cheliz: Yes I have but my classmates at the Klingon Academy I went
to would torment me everytime I went there having to use them.
Hakret: Just to let you know, you're not at the Klingon Academy
anymore. I mean, who's going to torment you? I think everybody
would willing to help out more often because you're using crutches.
Why are you still so scared of going to sickbay?
Cheliz: It's just a fear that's been hanging around me all my life.
(pause) Anyways, I better get ready for the ceremony.
::The nurse applied the hypo spray to Cheliz's neck to help her
breathe more easily. He then handed Cheliz the crutches and helped
her get out of bed as she headed to the bathroom. When she got
inside and the door was closed, tears had fallen down her eyes.::
Cheliz: I'm sorry I didn't live up to your expectations father.
::The combat with the Breen was a glorious one however, if she had
been more alert and cautious, she wouldn't have allowed the soldier
to sneek up behind her and take her prisoner. She felt shame for not
trying to fight him and just giving up, which allowed him to take her
as his prisoner. She didn't even have to courage to fight him and
die when she turned to face him.::
::Cheliz looked at herself in the mirror. Her once long, shiny,
brown hair now looked greesy and tangled. The Breen really made a
mess of her. She fumbled around a bit trying to honor her promise to
the nurse to stay off her leg as she took off her uniform. She took
the shower, brushed out her hair, braided it and put it in a bun.
Wrapping a towel around herself, Cheliz picked up her torn and dirty
uniform and made her way out of the bathroom and recycled it. She
replicated a dress uniform and went back into the bathroom to change
into it. After some more fumbling around, she was finally able to
get it on. She looked at herself in the mirror standing at
attention, bending her left knee and using the crutches to keep her
balance. Then she came back out, sat on her bed and proped her leg
up.::
Hakret: Alright, lets get this cast on your leg.
Cheliz: Is the cast really necessary? I find it to be very annoying
when I walk around and stuff.
Hakret: Now you promised me that you will be using those crutches
for at least a week. You will not be walking around on that leg, I
can assure you of that. You must keep this cast on at all times with
the exception changing into some new clothes and taking a shower.
Cheliz: Alright, you win.
::Satisfied with her answer, Nurse Hakret put the cast over Cheliz's
pant leg and helped her to once again stand up.::
Hakret: Alright, I'm done with you for now but I'm going to need to
see you in a week to check up on your leg.
Cheliz: That's fine.
::The nurse smiled just before he walked out the door. Cheliz hated
having to use the darn crutches. They greatly slowed her down as she
made her way to 10 forward. When she came in, she found some very
new faces as well as some familiar ones. She found Ensign Daker
sitting at a table waiting for his food or drink to arrive. He was
well trimmed and the dress uniform made him look like one of the top
officers of her security teams. She made her way to where he was
sitting and decided to talk with him.::
((OOC: Hi Daker. Hope you don't mind me assuming you're here in 10

Hopefully this will get you back in the game.))
Cheliz: (smiling) Mind if I join you?

::Cheliz talked with her officer for awhile and couldn't help but
notice the absense of her fiance. She was hoping to see him on the
ship as soon as she arrived but he was nowhere to be found. She
found Capt. Hollis in the back of the room talking to an Admiral who
she didn't recognise. She made her way in his direction and politely
approached the two of them. She waited for an appropriate break in
the conversation to ask the Captain where she might find him.::
Cheliz: (smiling) Greetings Captain (looking to the Admiral and
saluting as best as she could) and Admiral.
Hollis: Respond.
Cheliz: (smiling) I'm doing fine. At my old school, this is what my
classmates and I would call a flesh wound however, (smiling) the
Doctors here seem to have a different opinion. No need to worry,
though. This cast will be off and these crutches will be disposed of
soon enough. (pause) I came here to ask you what had happened to

Jessica: I can't wait to see them.
T'Lara: Trust me, Jessica, it'll be sooner than you think. Xan, could I

met with his eyes and squeezed his hand once more.:: <<I love you.>>
Xan: <<And I you>> Sure, no problem. Just don't get captured or anything.
::She smiled at him, released his hand and took Jessica aside for a

T'Lara: Jessica, there is something I want to ask you. You know, since
you've come aboard, and you've become a part of Xan's life, you've also
become something very important to me. You are like a little sister to me.
Jessica; Don't you have sisters?
T'Lara: That's true. I have two younger twin sisters, Tatiana and Anastasia.
But, I hardly get to see them. Jessica, are you familiar with any Betazoid
rituals?
Jessica: Not really no. It is not something that I have been looking into.
Sorry.
T'Lara: That's okay. There is one that is called the Bonding. It is when a
clan welcomes a new family into the group. Usually, it's because we see a
young person we see has potential and promise, and because we feel that the
person will enrich our lives. Well, darling, you've done just that, and I
would like to make you what we would call a "bond sister." In essence, you
would become a part of my family, a part of the traditions of my house. We
would welcome you as one of our own. Would you like that?
Jessica; Would I? There is nothing that I would want more. Wow. ::Her
eyes began to tear up.:: Ever since my parents died.. I..I I don't know
what to say. I mean, we were a family. My parents, Tanya, Steven, and me.
When they dies, my whole life changed. What do I need to do? Change my
name? My hair?
T'Lara: No, you don't have to do that. You just be yourself. That's why I
want you as part of my family. Because you are you.
Jessica: So we'd like be sisters, right?
T'Lara: That's right. We'd be sisters.
Jessica: Wow, I never thought of this. I can't believe it. Thank you so
much.
::T'Lara laughed and embraced the girl.::
T'Lara: We can conduct the ceremony after this party, if you wish. On the
holodeck.
Jessica; Really, you bet. I can't wait.
::They went, hand in hand, and sought out Hebron. T'Lara smiled at him
knowingly. The ceremony would start soon. One more time, before anyone
noticed, T'Lara clasped his hand and squeezed it. If they were going down,
they would go down together.::
::Hebron watched the group that had gathered. Each looked a little care
worn, and a little older from what they had gone through. They were a good
crew. He didn't know what Starfleet had in mind for any of them. He had
checked the posting for the Kodiak, and none of their names were listed with
it. It was funny how things went in the fleet. He felt left out a little.
He knew that Hollis would want to discuss his feelings and analyze them, but
he did not feel like talking to him right now. In fact, he felt a little
betrayed by the man. He couldn't stand the thought of another man being put
in his place.::
::He was really unsure what to think since his return. He had not really
spoken to Hollis other than to report, but he could not get over the feeling
that he was leaving. His entire Starfleet career had been spent aboard the
Kodiak, and now, who knew where he was going.::
::He let out a sigh as Jessica and T'Lara came over to him. He hid the
worries away in his mind. He didn't want to hint to T'Lara that something
was wrong. He brought out the emotions that he felt when around the two of
them and fled from the others.

life from the Breen who attacked me, for always looking out for me. ::She
looked down, suddenly insecure, and then looked up at him.:: And thank you
for loving me, even when I didn't realize it.
Hebron: There is no reason to thank me. This is also who I am.
T'Lara: To think you'd go to that great a distance for me boggles my mind.
To think that you would wait patiently for me, of all people . . . I didn't
know I was worth any of that.
Hebron: You are worth any price I would have to pay.
::She embraced him tightly. Looking up at him once more, she reached to
touch his cheek. He escorted her to the door of the garden, commanding the
computer to unlock it.::
T'Lara: I will see you in a little while.
Hebron: <<I love you.>>
T'Lara: <<As do I.>>
::She kissed him once more before turning to leave.::
::Hebron went back to the area and straightened things up a bit. He put
everything away and headed to his cabon. He was quiet and reflecting on
what had just occured. He did love her, and wanted to spend the rest of his
life with her, but he was worried about what was going to happen next. He
had no posting. His position on this ship was already taken. It surprised
him, due to the fact that he had no clue as to why. He felt that he had let
Hollis down a little. The two of them did have some different philosophies
on command, and different attitudes on dealing with the crew, but Hebron
didn't think the man wanted him removed from the Kodiak.::
::The promotion ceremony was to take place shortly and Hebron wanted to get
dressed for it. He walked into the quarters and found Jessica asleep on the
couch. She had been watching her television. Hebron turned it off and made
his way to the shower. By the time he got out, Jessica was awake and
looking at him like he had been a bad boy.::
Jessica: SO where were you all last night?
Hebron: Hmm. Not sure if I want to answer that.
Jessica: SO, was it everything you dreamed of?
Hebron: And then some.
::Jessica smiled and hugged him.::
Jessica: I just knew you two would get married on day.
Hebron: Easy easy, we are not married yet.
Jessica: I know, but it will happen soon. And when it does, we can all live
in harmony together.
Hebron: I would love that. Listen Jessica, no matter what happens between
T'Lara and me, I will always love you deeply and cherish every moment I have
with you. You are now like my daughter, or the little sister I never had.
That will never change.

::Zanisa lifts up her glass of orange juice and looks at the brightly
colored beverage, frowning slightly. She hesitantly takes a sip.::
Kare'en: So?
Zanisa: its very sweet. Its different then anything I have had
before.
:: she finishes her drink and smiles at him.::
Trean: its different thats for sure. But right now I am so tired
and ready for bed. I just have to located what quarters I am assigned
and I am off.
Kare'en: I didn't realize how late it's getting. I'm tired myself.
::The two ensigns walk out of 10 Forward and towards one of the wall
schematics.::
Kare'en: Computer, have temporary quarters been assigned to Ensigns
Trean and Kare'en?
Computer: Ensign Trean has been assigned quarters on Deck 13, Room
324. Ensign Kare'en has been assigned quarters on Deck 7, Room 118.
Kare'en: Humph. Completely different parts of the ship. Do you
want me to walk you to your quarters?
Trean: Response.
Kare'en: ::yawning:: I guess I *am* more tired than I thought.
Well, I'll see you in the morning?
Trean: Response.
::Kare'en takes a quick glance at the schematic to find the nearest
turbolift. With a quick glance over his shoulder to Trean he heads
off.::
((Later, in Deck 7, Room 118))
::Ensign Kare'en is having difficulty sleeping and is reviewing in
his mind the events of the past few days.::
Kare'en: <First, we stumble across our new assignment gutted like a
fish and drifting in space. We barely have time to meet the CO and
the power goes out. So the bridge crew gets put under with a Vulcan
neck pinch, and I just happen to be on the bridge at the time. Then
I wake up on a completely different ship, not knowing anyone except
Zanisa. And I'm so nervous around her that I manage to insult her by
not listening when she's talking about her home planet. She probably
was as tired of me as she was plain tired.>
::He sighs and then tries unsuccessfully to stifle a yawn.::
Kare'en: <Maybe some work would distract me. I need to do something
to unwind before I can fall asleep.>
Kare'en: Computer, what is the location of Lt. Townson from the
TIGER?
Computer: Lt. Townson is currently in her guest quarters.
Kare'en: <Well, there goes that idea. Like any sane person who's
been through what they've, what *we've* been through, she's getting
some sleep.>
::He sighs again and throws the covers off. He heads over the
replicator.::
Kare'en: Computer, give me a mild sedative. Nothing too harsh.
Just something to help me sleep.
::A small glass appears in the replicator, and Ensign Kare'en drains
the contents in one gulp. He heads back to the bed, tosses and turns
for few moments, and soon falls into a deep, dreamless, drug-induced
sleep.::
((Morning of the day of the Promotion Ceremony))
::Kare'en wakes to the insistent beeping of the computer. His body
is refreshed, but his head aches from the sedative of the night
before. He snaps at the computer.::
Kare'en: Yes, Computer, what is it?
Computer: Good morning, Ensign Kare'en. Do you want to review your
schedule for the day?
Kare'en: Computer, what time is it?
Computer: 0600 hours.
Kare'en: Computer, what time did I enter the room last night?
Computer: Ensign Kare'en entered his quarters at approximately 0200
hours.
Kare'en: ::angry:: So Computer, why did you wake me up at 0600?
Computer: The default alarm setting for all crew quarters is 0600
hours. ::pause:: Ensign Kare'en, do you want to review your
schedule
for the day?
::Kare'en groans and pulls the covers over his head.::
Kare'en: <I *hate* computers.>
::He sighs, and then sits up, suddenly curious.::
Kare'en: <I'm new on the KODIAK. Did they put me into a duty
rotation already? What kind of schedule can a guest have?>
Kare'en: Computer, review schedule for the day.
Computer: ::It almost sounds happy to deliver its message.:: The
members of the TIGER crew are to meet later today for a promotion
ceremony in 10 Forward. Dress uniform is required.
::Kare'en scratches the ridges above his right eye.::
Kare'en: <We'll, I've only been TIGER crew for a few days, but I
guess that order includes me. Hey! Where am I going to get a dress
uniform? All my other clothes are in the shuttle we came to the
TIGER in!>
::He casts a wary glance at the replicator, and walks over to it like
a gunslinger walking to showdown at high noon.::
Kare'en: OK, Computer. Listen closely. I need a science officer's
dress uniform in the following dimensions...
::He gives his measurements to the computer, and in a few moments a
uniform appears in the replicator bay.::
OOC: There. Probably pretty boring for the rest of you, but that
puts my character ready for the ceremony whenever it is. I am
hoping, for my character's sake, that there are more formal
introductions some time soon. He kind of jumped into the middle of
you all, and doesn't really know anyone except for Ensign Trean.
Ensign Kare'en
Science Officer
USS TIGER
::Seeing that Jelani was being taken care of, Quanzel didn't see any
reason to stay.::
Shiran: Doctor, I will return later to discuss whatever it is Nurse
Hakret informed me you wanted to talk to me about. I'll be locating
my temporary quarters.
Firewind: Respond.
::Quanzel nodded a farewell to Doctor Firewind and left the sickbay.
One thing about being new to a ship was the annoyance of attempting
to find her way around. She looked at a map and studied it.::
Shiran: Computer, show me the temporary quarters of the USS TIGER
crew.
::On the map, a small highlighted section of the ship came up.::
Shiran: Computer, what is the number for the asigned quarters for
Ensign Quanzel Shiran.
Computer: Number 832
::Quanzel took the turbolift and walked through the cooridores and
eventually arrived at them. Upon entering she found everything to
suit her needs. She made a mental note to salvage her personal items
from the Tiger when she had the chance. she walked into the bathroom
and looked into the mirror and found her bun was halfway fallen out
and everything about her was a wreck. She took out her bun and let
her tangled black hair fall. The white hairs were so seperated and
spread out that it seemed like there was no stripe at all and she
only looked like it was signs of aging. She proceeded to take off
her torn uniform and uncovered the 6 inch scar beginning on the front
of her right shoulder, and ending just above her right breast. It
was one of the few battle scars that remained from when she defended
herself against the Romulans as a young girl. She finished taking
her uniform off and took a sonic shower. When she finished, she
replicated a new uniform and put it on. Once again, looking in the
mirror, Quanzel brushed out her long, ravishing, jet black hair as it
flowed down past her knees. When she was satisfied that the tangles
had been removed, Quanzel proceeded to brush two strands in the front
of her head and braided each straind. About half way through, she
pulls the strands back behind her head and connects the braids to end
in one single braid, leaving the rest of her silky hair down. She
went into the living room and replicated a Vulcan herbal tea and
sipped it as she sat on the chair and looked at the stars outside of
her window which seemed to be suspended in the dark silence. Feeling
uneasy, she replicated a flute and checked the data banks for the
music that was available.::
Shiran: Computer, display the music to the flute part of Scherzo in
G Minor by Felix Mendelssohn.
::The display showed the music and began playing the orchestral
accompaniment. Quanzel played her flute but somehow she wasn't in
the mood. She continued to play but the memories from the recent
events took a toll on her as she played. She finally stopped
playing, put the flute down. Just as she did so, she saw a notice on
the screen for a promotional ceremony that she needed to attend so
she changed out of her work uniform and into her dress uniform and
proceeded to 10 forward.::
((about 5 minutes later))
::Quanzel sat in a corner at a table looking out the window siping
some tea and wondered why she was feeling these emotions comming out
of her. She's never shown that many emotions at one time since the
training she went through with her Vulcan grandparents. She rubbed
the ridges on her forehead as she looked around the restraunt. The
decorations were elaborate and colorful. As a matter of fact, too
elaborate for even a Federation Style promotional ceremony. It was
then that she began to wonder who was going to be promoted. There
had to be somebody who was going to be promoted higher up within the
commanding ranks. Perhaps they'd be promoted to Commander, Captain
or even Admiral. There's no way she was able to logically figure it
out until the actual ceremony began. When she finished her tea, she
stood up and looked out the window and watch the quiet vastness of
the sky. All the technology the Federation had to offer and the
window was the best thing they came up with. All the beauty in the
stars showed through this window and they didn't need any other type
of sensors or displays to capture the image.::

:: Without warning her arm shot out, with some kind of claws
extended, stopping just short of his face. ::
Rourke: Anassasi stop! It's me, Rourke.
:: Jessa looks at the man, her feral side screaming to attack. She
pulls up short at the last second... ::
Anassasi: Wh . . ::pauses:: What happened?
Rourke: (Eying the claws) You were attacked by a Breen, you're safe
now.
:: A phaser beam strikes the desk blowing a hole straight through
it. ::
Rourke: Well ok safer...
:: Jessa drops her hand, retracting her claws as she does so.
Instinctively she ducks before realizing how silly that must appear.
She turns to look, seeing only the console. ::
Anassasi: What's happening now?
Rourke: I'm not quite sure all hells broken loos...
:: The end of his sentence was cut off by a large explosion from the
ceiling of Engineering. Moving instinctively Rourke threw himself on
the still prone Anassasi. ::
Anassasi: Unghfff...
Jessa heard the explosion. <What in the Light was that???> A sudden
burst of phaser fire could be heard as smoke filtered through the air.
Anassasi: Are you alright. . .?
:: Still on top of Anassasi he looked up into her eyes becoming
almost entranced in the cold blue colour of them, until a fresh
barrage of phaser fire snapped him out of it and moved off of her. ::
Rourke: (A bit embarrassed) I'm fine. You?
:: She smiled. She watched him, amused by his reaction. Seems she'd
been getting a lot of that recently. Curious. ::
Anassasi: Yes. . .I think. Give me a hand...
: Rourke moved to a better position and then extended his hand
helping her up. Looking around he could see shadows flittering
around, vaguely distinguishable people that seemed to have joined the
mix. ::
Rourke: Any ideas on who these new people are?
:: Sitting up slowly, her head reeled. She watched as he peeked out
from behind the console. If she could have, she would have stayed
put. Her stomach lurched again. She held his shoulder for a moment
for support. When her head cleared, she looked up to meet his hazel
eyes again. ::
Anassasi: Sorry. Give me a minute. . .What do they look like?
:: As he met her eyes once more, he found himself inexplicably drawn
into them. The old cliche of drowning in them came to the front of
his mind. He closed his eyes for a second. ::
Rourke: oO God I'm acting like a hormonal teenager. Oo
Rourke: Umm I think they're wearing some form of combat suits, they
don't look Breen.
: Jessa stared into his eyes. Such an intense shade of green . . .or
was it brown? She sighed, then jumped as a phaser blast struck the
console above them. ::
Anassasi: Probably marines from the Kodiak. I called for back up. I
hope they have tag guns . . .that or scavenger rifles. They're going
to need them. You still have that phaser?
Rourke: I'm afraid not, I lost it when the thrusters started. But
what kind of weapons are tag guns and a... was it scavenger rifle?
:: He tried to avert from looking Anassasi in the eyes for fear of
her picking up on the more than casual feeling he got when doing
so. ::
Anassasi: The tag gun was designed by Ensign Ferris to transport
mutated crewmen from Kismet's surface. The native Indrum emit an
electrical field that interfered with transport. This is designed to
combat that. Tag the individual, the tag emits a signal, Kodiak
transports them aboard. Convenient, no? The scavenger rifle is a
little more. . .terminal. Hopefully, they will tag all the Breen
before it comes to that. I lost my tag gun when I was attacked, I
guess.
::She looked out past the console, checking the movements of her
troops. She could see Daniels in the fray. Looked like Collins was
there too. Glancing back at him, she wondered at the odd look on his
face.::
Jessa: <Am i just imagining it? I thought. . .Not the time for this
Jessa. Focus on the mission.>
Rourke oO Focus, Mike, focus. Oo
Rourke: Should we wait this out, or make a move?
:: Jessa debated. If they waited. . .she smiled. If they moved...she
looked at her own lack of equipment. No phaser. No tag gun. No rifle.
Just the handful of hypos but no form of transmission. The decision
was easy. Turning she settled against the desk before speaking. ::
Anassasi: I vote we wait. We don't have any weapons between the pair
of us. . .just a handful of hypos I could use if I had the tag gun.
Care to join me?
:: She grinned mischievously ::
:: With a quick smile, to try to cover the feeling that rose as he
saw her grin, he sat down next to her. Resting back against the desk
he looked ahead, resisting the urge to look at the intoxicating woman
to his right. ::
:: Jessa watches him for a moment. He seemed to be avoiding her
gaze. ::
Anassasi: Is something wrong, Lieutenant?
Rourke: Wrong? Nope, why do you ask?
Anassasi: ah. . .you...well. . .your not looking at me. Do they
bother you? . . .the Breen, I mean.
::Jessa could almost kick herself for that one. She knew he was
avoiding looking at her. She just wasn't sure why.::
Jessa: <Stupid question. . .>
Rourke: Bother me? Well no, not unless you count the whole trying to
kill me a dozen times over thing.
:: He turns to smile at her and before he realises what he's doing he
once again finds himself unable to tear his gaze away from her. ::
:: Jessa sighs. She knew all to well what he meant. Only for her the
Gatherers did more than try to kill her family, friends, and herself.
A part of her had died when she lost her parents and brother. All she
had left was Genna. She could relate. ::
::Looking up, she meets his gaze. His eyes held such depth.::
Anassasi: (small laugh) I guess that would count.
Jessa: <Light Jes. . .couldn't you say something more intelligible?
You sound as if your 15 years old. . .>
:: Looking deeper into her eyes he sees a slight speck of something,
he moves a little closer becoming drawn in by the intense look she
was giving him. ::
:: His leg brushed up against hers. Around them the room blazed with
phaser fire. The sounds of the battle both excited her and frightened
her. The look Rourke was giving her. . .She let out the breath she
was holding. ::
:: At the slight connection of their bodies he felt a surge through
his body. Everything that was happening around them seemed to become
less clear; the noises becoming distant. Instinctively he moved
closer to her, turning his body until he was straddling her. Not once
did he break the lock of their eyes, leaning slowly in, he let desire
take over. Finally their lips met in a deep and passionate kiss. ::
:: Jessa stared into his eyes as he moved forward. ::
Jessa: <What is. . .>
:: She held very still, uncertain of his intent until his lips met
hers. All the danger, all the fear, all her instinct flowed into that
kiss. The battle came to an end before the pair separated. Each
looked to the other, eyes searching for something. Before she could
draw breath, he kissed her again. ::
:: Behind them, soft booted feet approached, unnoticed. Daniels could
see the forms behind the console, wondering who lay injured there.
Stepping to the front, he peered over the front of the console and
stared. ::
Daniels: ::Cough:: Uh. . .sorry Chief. . .erm. . .ah. . .Engineering
is. . .ah clear.
:: He flushes with embarrassment. ::
Daniels: We'll. . .ah. . .just sweep the shuttle bay
and . . .the . . .Bridge.
:: Someone's cough interrupts them. Blushing slightly, they separate,
embarrassed to be caught. Jessa listens as her officer stammers
through his report, smiling at Rourke the whole time. ::
Jessa: Good. Carry on. . .
::As the foot steps quickly retreat, she turns to him, laying her
arms about his neck. . .::
Jessa: Now. . .where were we???

This is the new posting site. Do you guys want to post here as well
as on the kismet site. That way you can know where you are at.
THings are a little confusing on the Kismett site.
You know the drill, so let's jump right in...
1. UFOP AWARDS CEREMONY: Although we had planned to do two Award Ceremonies
this year, one in April and one in October, it just didn't happen :-( We
ARE, however, planning on having an Award Recognition by mid-September.
With that in mind, here's some information on the Awards and the rules on
how they're awarded:
a. Go to: http://www.mersinet.co.uk/~andyp/ufop/awdcrmny.shtml and read
through the description of the awards. This will help you better understand
how each award is given.
b. Keep in mind:
- Only one officer per ship can receive each award.
- Only one of each of the command awards will be given out. (So for
example, only one captain could receive the Kirk Cross.)
- Only COMMANDERS and above can receive "Awards for Command Officers".
c. One you have decided who you would like to nominate for an award, send
the complete list to "ufop-awards@...". DO NOT SEND YOUR
SUBMISSIONS TO YOUR CAPTAIN. The nominations will be compiled, and your
captains will receive notification of who was nominated. Decisions will be
made on who receives each award on a merit basis. Make sure your nomination
e-mail includes the following information: YOUR character name, the name of
the officer you are nominating, the officer's e-mail address, and which
award(s) you are nominating the officer(s) for. Again, you may nominate
both fellow crewmembers AND your commanding officer.
d. IMPORTANT: If you submitted nominations for an officer earlier this
year you must RESUBMIT that award. Some of those officers may have left
UFOP, changed ships, etc.
e. You can find four new awards, not listed on the UFOP website, at:
www.geocities.com/wolf530/gr_beta/new_awards.htm
e. If you have any questions, please contact me at "twolf@...".
2. THE MESSAGE BOARD: Once again, if you haven't already, check out the
message board. It's free, and it's fun :) The URL is:

3. OOC CHAT: We MAY or MAY NOT be holding an OOC chat this week. Please
check the message board (URL above) "News & Updates" area to see if we will
be holding the chat. Notification will be posted by Thursday night.
4. GRAPHICS DESIGNERS: We're ALWAYS in need of graphics designers who are
willing to volunteer a little time for the group. If you have any
experience with graphics design programs and you have an hour or two to
spare, just e-mail me: "twolf@...". The help is greatly
appreciated!
5. VOTINGBOOTH: If you haven't voted in UFOP's many ongoing polls, please
do so! The URL is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ufop-votingbooth/polls
6. THE REPORTER: The UFOP Reporter, our regular newsletter will be
returning soon. The first issue is currently in the works! If you'd like to
