By belonging to this group you will gain updates on local SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network) ham radio updates and discussion. You will also receive the latest information on how and when and where The Salvation Army is responding in disasters whereever it serves, locally or around the world.

We (SATERN) work as a radio support to any emergency and disaster as a part of The Salvation Army's SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network)national and international disaster response. SATERN works cooperatively with ARES/Races radio groups in providing the best quality service we can.

SATERN is most known for missing persons location in a disaster. Family members seeking someone who may have been impacted in a disaster can be reconnected with the help of SATERN members.

Most SATERN members are volunteers and a few are Salvation Army Officers (pastors) and all are ham radio operators working together to serve our communities.As we begin our Kern County chapter of SATERN we realize we will be another way that The Salvation Army serves at home and abroad in disasters.We truely are a disaster agency, in addition to all the other ways we serve mankind, without discrimination.
