Description

This is a volunteer run group for hams interested in discussing sharing ideas about LDG Electronics S9Antennas and accessories, such as the S9v43, S9v31 and S9v18 vertical antennas and S9RP Aluminum Radial Plate.

All new members are put on moderated status until their first post to prevent newsgroup and spam abuse. They will be taken off moderated status and allowed to post freely. No attachments may be posted. No cross posting. Please always sign your messages with name and call sign. Civility is very important in this group.

There are coils you can built to increase the electrical length of the antenna to work on lower frequencies. These would be in series with the S9 antenna.

I did come across, a few years ago, a microwave or UHF system that used etched PCB counterpoises as part of the aerial system so nothing new!!!   Thanks Chris

The coil(s) do eliminate the need for counterpoise or radials for ground mounted antennas. They may also so the same for raised ones also. John K2JHU. _____
