Description

The purpose of this group is to help bring together people interested in the Rwenzori Mountains of western Uganda. For many years, the Rwenzori Mountains National Park has been a destination for mountaineers, trekkers and naturalists. It is hoped that this forum can help increase dialogue towards sustainable tourism in the RMNP.

Hi Frank, I know of at least two attempts to ski the mountain. The most recent was Nicole Dreon a few weeks ago. She managed 8 turns only. I suspect that

I was on Margherita in January 2005, the snow would have been good for skiing, but there are good slopes only coming down from Margherita to the Stanley

Frank - I know someone who just skied it last month. She said she was able to make a few turns up there but the conditions are pretty bad. Best, Alison Levine
