FINAL EMPTYING OF OIL AND GAS WELLS

About 25,000 messages about global oil and gas depletion were posted and archived in the EnergyResources and (original) RunningOnEmpty forum from March 2000 to July 2002.
Data from the oil industry indicates that by the end of this decade, we will see a permanent 3% per year decline of output from the world's now-emptying oil fields.

Oil is vital to transportation by air/land /sea, all businesses, industry, and NZ economy.

Natural gas is declining globally too: Much is used to generate electricity, for computers, telephone systems, home heating, and workplaces. Gas is a raw material for fertilizers for food crops. A chilling paper by energy specialist, Richard C. Duncan, Ph.D., has predicted a likely North American gas/electricty grid crash.
Calculations suggest that alternative sources of energy are seriously inadequate in quantity and substitutability. The world's 11,000 airliners cannot run on nuclear, or coal or windmills. Changeovers take years, cost multi-millions, require land, require public co-operation, and ...fuel.

Energy scarcity/costs entail global recession, food shortages, fighting over resources, and (literally) billions of human deaths before year 2030.
