This group is for discussion about the British Royal Navy from The Napoleonic Wars to the end of the 19th Century, including the great Age of Nelson and the Victorian Navy, Royal Marines and 19th Century Colonial Naval forces. All subjects and illustrations relating to this are acceptable, including preserved warships, replica warships, ship models, fiction like Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey- Maturin novels, Hornblower, etc, Naval guns, uniforms, Admirals, etc. Whilst discussion is the aim, 'flaming' is NOT acceptable. Anyone posting 'spam' will be banned without warning. New members Please read 'Group Information' under 'Files' then check the very extensive 'links' section and 'photos' first. See also a short survey under 'polls'. The 'Calendar' has important RN dates. On topic questions and contributions from members are always very welcome. New members always welcome aboard.
