S Y N T H E S I S  Update 06.VII.2003

Greetings once again and welcome to this newest update to SYNTHESIS. First we'd like to apologize for the six months that have passed with nary a peep from us, partially due to a partial re-orienting and honing of perspective and emphasis for our humble web zine, partially due to a bout of burnout on my part (this in spite of the six-figure income I derive from this site, too!). To address the former, we've done away with both the Fiction and Art sections and have cut back somewhat on the Poetry as well, and have added a new category ( Miscellany ) for those items which just otherwise defy classification (like, heh, most of my contributions). Additionally, the plan is to try to integrate the visual content more tightly with the written content in the future and enforce a much more integral unity over the whole. This will be our little living black pearl in cyberspace.

Thanks for reading and have a joyous and abundant summer.

Signed,

Michael Lujan

Dear SYNTHESIS readers:

The SYNTHESIS site located at http://www.RoseNoire.org has finally
started resolving again at its new web host.

Unfortunately, in my haste to move the site, I neglected to ensure
the Autarkic Network subdomain was properly backed up, so while the
vast majority of the site has been recoverable thanks to Google's
cache feature, we are now taking the opportunity to renovate the
whole site in accord with changing times and imperatives. All of us
at SYNTHESIS thank you for your patience and hope for your continued
patronage.

Sincerely,
Michael Lujan

SYNTHESIS Update Yule 2001

Happy Yule!
25 December 2001

A Note from the Webmaster:
Welcome to the last update of 2001! I'd like to take this opportunity, on behalf of Troy, myself, and all of our contributors, to thank our readership for the phenomenal success and growth we've experienced this year. For the last two months we've been averaging 20,000 hits per month. This is almost exactly ten times the traffic we were receiving in January of this year. Some thanks is due to Bill White and his widely-read Libertarian Socialist News for the coverage he's given us on a few occasions, as well as to all those individuals who have been responsible for the otherwise almost completely word-of-mouth popularity (or notoriety?!) of our humble enterprise. We'd all also like to offer our most heart-felt thanks to our enemies for their help in promoting this web-journal, not least of which were the organizers of the "Anti-Synthesis/Anti-National Anarchist" 'conference' which may or may not have taken place in Poland this year. You flatter us with your attention!
           Now, for the Future:
2002 promises to be another banner year. First of all there are plans in the works to move SYNTHESIS to her very own, long-needed domain without being relegated to the right of the forward-slash: sometime early in 2002 be on the lookout for www.RoseNoire.org. The Circle of the Black Rose will finally have its home in cyberspace! Then there are plans to migrate to an all-PHP, MySQL database-backed platform. The proposal as it stands includes a web-interface accessible to all authorized contributors who will simply submit their work directly to the database and have it instantly accessible to the readership, via an auto-generated update notice to be sent out from the new
Yahoo Group we've set up specifically for update notices. Thus, instead of updates every month or so, we should see weekly or even daily updates in the future. I am also in the process of brushing up on my Spanish in order to be able to present selected writings by some Traditionalist friends of ours in sadly-besieged Argentina, to whom we send our warmest regards and best wishes for a brighter new year this holiday season. And lastly, we are currently working on making available hardcopy, "newsstand editions" of each update in order to spread our nefarious, corrupting influence among those last, proud holdouts against the encroachment of the Global Information Superhighway.

And of course, Merry Mithrasmas/ Christmas/ Yule/ Solstice/ Saturnalia, and a Happy New Year to you all, from all of us at SYNTHESIS.

Signed,

Michael L. Lujan
Webmaster, SYNTHESIS
