New houses for the Roma from Sibiu
13/07/2009 - Eight Roma families from village Bradeni, Sibiu County, will receive houses until 2010. At least 12 of the beneficiaries of the new houses will also be trained for working on building sites in order to be able to find a job on the jobs market.
The project entitled “Improving the quality of Roma life in village Bradeni, by building houses” is financed by the European Union and the Romanian Government and implemented by the local authorities from Bradeni.
The project will be developed in one year. In this period of time 12 persons, 2 from each beneficiary family will be trained for the construction field. They will have the opportunity to use their knowledge on the building site of the eight houses.
The selection of the eight families with a total of 50 persons, who will benefit for free of the eight houses, will be made by the Initiative Group of the Roma from Bradeni. The immediate result of this project will be that some members of the Roma community from Bradeni will benefit of appropriate housing, because the project is directed toward the families with a high integration potential.
