We welcome USA and international perspectives on the concept "The Right to Health Care", although we expect discussions will likely be mostly related to applications in the USA. Discussion items are from viewpoints of philosophy, history, politics, ethics (including religious), health care policy and sociology. All viewpoints and political persuasions are welcome (including polite and serious opposition).
We intend to refuse messages which are broadly on "universal health care", uninsurance and aspects of current crises in health care (USA's market medicine or variations elsewhere) except as these apply to the Right To Health Care. This is because most of us already participate in other list-serves which cover those areas well (at yahoo try spiritof1848, CUH, healthcareoregon ).
Approval for membership has been invoked in order to maintain a serious and courteous tone. To this end we encourage members to avoid sarcasm, to respect other viewpoints and to provide rational arguments (data and references where appropriate). We do not want this group to be a forum for endless repition of popular myths (with no rational foundation).
Please indicate why you wish to participate in this discussion group (one or two sentences are fine, more if you wish).
