A few collections of interest are availiable at:

http://www.antique-watch.com/idx/keys.html

Perhaps some interested person could buy one of these collections with an
eye towards splitting it up?

Amung others:
Thirty late 18th and early 19th century English and
French watch cocks from full plate verge movements
mounted on black velvet. Glazed antique gilt effect
frame.

Circa 1780
all for $627.00 US, or about $21.00 apiece. I have a feelling that one
could easily sell them, working or not, for much more to interested
reenactors. Put me down for one that doesn't work, $30.00 - $40.00 for a
case and face I can put a modern mechanism in sounds fine to me.

The Townsend one is about as far away from the 18th C. look as possible. You could try to find a nonworking original and replace the movement. Also, how would...
