Description
This group is dedicated to the discussion of making and wearing Revolutionary War era costumes and clothing. (Costume:" 1. A style of dress, including garments, accessories, and hairstyle, especially as characteristic of a particular country, period, or people."-Websters)
Since I found few groups for this era, I encourage all who are interested in costuming for the purpose of war reenactment or historical interpretation to join us! Of specific interest will be patterns, fabrics, sewing methods, accessories and anything else related to making the costume feel like you are living a piece of history.
Note :: This group is progressive, as in, we do not adhere to research that was done 25 years ago JUST because it was done 25 years ago. We believe that research makes this hobby truly evolving and truly fluid! "Never Say Never" unless proven otherwise!::
All levels of experience encouraged --newbies to professionals. RevWar items for sale/barter/ wanted welcomed here. However, NO SPAM and no ads for unrelated items are allowed. Sewing rev war for most here is a necessity, a journey, which may be sometimes bumpy, sometimes funny, sometimes rewarding, and always different from our modern confines.
