I wanted to let ya'll know that when you see me at Faire this upcoming weekend - don't be shocked to see a protective boot on my right foot. I had a heavy electric wheelchair battery fall on the top of my foot last night in work.
No bones broken (thankfully)...but did end up needing crutches and the protector for a week due to deep tissue bruising and swelling. I am hoping i can just get around wearing the shoe by Saturday....the swelling is slowly receding.
If ya wondering how a battery can do that much damage, it wieghed over 50 lbs...and dislodged when the wheelchair was up in a truck, and the guy turned the wheelchair on its side without warning <<grrrrrrrr>. I swore like a real mean pirate, made his ears turn beat red.....And he himself was a truckdriver and thought he heard all the swears out there!! LMFAO
See ya'll this weekend.

Damn the luck! Sorry to hear that. I won't be out this weekend but I'm
planning on making it for Memorial weekend. If you still have that shoe
on by then, we'll have to run the bastard up the mast for it.

Subject: [middlefaire] MIDDLEFAIRE 2007 BUILT BOOTH SPECIALTY LEASE AGREEMENT POSTED
To: middlefaire@yahoogroups.com, middlefairecraftvendors@yahoogroups.com

Greetings everyone,

I have posted the Middlefaire 2007 Built Booth Specialty Lease Agreement
in Files on the Middlefaire Craft Vendors Yahoo Group. Anyone who wishes to
read it can join the group and see it there. I'm using that as a "carrot" just to
encourage anyone interested in vending out of a hardshell booth to pop in and
join that (currently small) group.

Other faire owners and friendly folk are welcome to peek at it as well.  If
you see anything in our agreement you want to use as a model for your own
paperwork, feel free with my compliments. I want our lease agreement out there
where any prospects can read it, in the hopes that I will get more interested
parties.

Next year, rentals on these specialty leases will go up. What I have created is
an absolute outhouse bargain, an out-and-out steal, for anyone who wants to
build this summer. Consider it a Grand Opening Sales Giveaway. It's a "sale"
that won't be back next year..I simply could not afford to do it every year.

Allow me to cite one example:

(A) If you rent a 12' x 16' space for your pavilion tent, that essentially will
constitute a "large", and you will pay $40 per weekend--that's at this year's
prices.

(B) If you lease a 12' x 16' space and build a 10' x 15' wooden booth on it,
under the terms of our 2007 agreement, for the first three years, you will pay
no rent at all.

The first three years are complimentary, in recognition of the expense and
hard work involved in building a wooden booth structure.

However as they say on the old TV commercials "But wait--that's not all!"

The following seven years of your ten year agreement, you will be locked in at
the price of .12 cents per square foot of ground space, per festival weekend.

Do the math---at that rate of .12 cents per square foot, you can be paying $18
a weekend for a wooden booth that catches the eye and pulls in foot traffic.
That's until 2017. It's not only an absurd bargain compared to what most other
faires will be charging tent vendors--it's an absurd bargain compared to what
WE are charging tent vendors right now..!

As additional build incentives:

1. You don't have to build a wooden floor on ground level. Dirt is fine; that's
what a real historical village would have...with floors, it's your choice.

2. You don't have to build full frontal walls on the ground level, if you'd rather
have an open-plaza style booth. (This is in the village of Haymarket Square
only--in Wilton Shire, Peltham Downs, and Altenmuenster, the architectural
requirements may be a bit more stringent.)

3. Anything above ground level does not accrue additional rent.
In other words, the hypothetical $18 a weekend booth cited above COULD
just as easily be an *$18 a weekend two-story booth*.

I'm making these offers to encourage any craft vendors who don't have fancy
tent pavilions, who are perhaps operating out of an EZ-up, to consider an
upgrade to a wooden structure. The above offer is 2007 only...it will expire on
faire day this October.

I'm giving away everything but a 5-piece Bamboo Steamer set here, folks. ;-)

If interested, please write me for more details and discussion.

Onward,

games of skill and in a full-contact joust for awards and prizes.
The beautiful belly dancers from Tyler's own "Dream Harem" will be
there to delight and entertain as well. Food concessions are
available with turkey legs, steak-on-a-stake, and other delicious
Renaissance treats.
"Four Winds events offer a unique opportunity for families to
have an educational and fun experience and step back in time for a
day. We have recaptured the essence of entertainment in the
Renaissance era that will spark imaginations of the young and not-so-
young alike," says Dustin Stephens, Owner of Four Winds Faire.
This is one weekend experience you and your family won't want
to miss! This unique event is a great value at only $10.00 per adult
and $5.00 for children age 5 to 12; children 4 and under are free.
Gates open at 4:00 pm and close at 10:00 pm following the fireworks
display. Tickets may be purchased in advance until June 25 by
ordering online at fourwindsfaire1@..., or at the ticket booth
the day of the event. FREE PARKING is available. For more
information about the Ren-dependence Festival & Joust Tournament, log
on to www.fourwindsfaire.com or call (903) 839-5271.
Four Winds Faire site is located just 11 miles south of Tyler
off Hwy. 110 South, between Whitehouse and Troup. From Dallas/Ft.
Worth, it is just 85 miles east off I-20 at the Hwy. 69 exit to
Tyler, and just 80 miles west of Shreveport/Bossier City, LA off I-20
at the Hwy. 69 exit.

A year ago, my son turned 21 and so many of you called to wish him happy
birthday, and it really made his day.

Well now, that next big event is going on for him.
Saturday, May the 12th, My Son Drew will graduate from Baylor university.
His degree is in Theatre Arts, and he hopes to become an Actor.
Current Plans are to move to New York or Boston this summer and start his
career.

So, if anybody is willing to take 5 minutes out of their time this weekend to
give him a phone call, I would greatly appreciate it. Just a quick message to
say Congrats on graduating, and good luck going forward (or as some of you do,
to personalize that message just a bit)

If you would like to help me with this, please send me an email to
CuthbertofHW@...

and I'll send you his phone number.

Thanks in advance for your help.
