Description

Returning to the openness to the Holy Spirit that characterized the Reformed Church of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, especially in Scotland, Reformed-Charismatic is a Christian e-mail discussion list set up for the purpose of discussing Reformed Theology and Charismatic Practice, and how they can compliment and correct one another.

The Scottish Reformation had an historical openness to the on-going work of the Holy Spirit under the supreme rule of Holy Scripture, as can be conclusively demonstrated by reading the writings of early Presbyterians. Scottish Commissioner to the Westminster Assembly, Samuel Rutherford, is a good example of this balanced and biblical position <http://www.rbvincent.com/rutherford.htm>. The statue at the right is of prophetic preacher and reformer, John Knox; it is found at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.

There are many Christian e-mail discussion lists, but this one is specifically for Christians to interact with and learn from others who desire to bring together that which is truly Christian within the Reformed and Charismatic worlds, testing everything by Scripture.

The goal of this list is to see edifying, thought-provoking discussion and debate on biblical issues so that participants may come to healthier balance of beliefs and practices. As we are attempting to develop and maintain a "family" atmosphere, where people deal with each other in kindness and grace, "flaming" posts are not tolerated.
