As i stopped at the ATM at the entrance to central station, I barely noticed two teenagers exiting the station as well. A passing paddy wagon did draw attention though.
After getting some cash i made way to railway square bus stop, but stopped when i saw the police bailing up the two teenagers.
They were detained and questioned for 15 minutes then searched and then realeased without charge.
After the incident they told me that they experience this sort of treatment from the police every day, saying also that they thought it was because they were aboriginal that the police harassed them.
Fri 29th July 8pm sharp Newtown Square (bring a clock) Time and Space will explore the past, present and future - here, there, and everywhere - in a convenient adventure up King Street, Newtown.
In collusion with Reclaim The Streets, Critical Mass, the Graffitti Hall of Fame, and Sydney Indymedia, Street Stylin presents King St in a new light. Sponsored by no one, powered by our own feet, join us for stories, insights, performances, time bandits, and space invaders...
Sydney Indymedia is planning BIG changes to the website in preparation for the 30A protests against the Forbes 500 meeting.
Sydney Indymedia was one of the original indymedia sites, before it grew to the global monster it is now. It still runs the original 'active' code base, which was the first code base to be developed specifically for indymedia.
In order to fix a few problems (like quotes coming from Micro$ux Word turning into gibberish, and inefficient searching), we have decided to change the codebase to Drupal.
To get involved, come to our next meeting: 16 August 2005 at 1 Henry St. Turrella, or via IRC, channel #sydney
