Veterans and friends of the Red Marker FACs who supported the Vietnamese Airborne Division and the Red Hats of US MACV Advisory Team 162 from 1962-1973. Air Liaison Officers, Forward Air Controllers, Radio Operators, Crew Chiefs and Maintenance personnel.

Less than 175 people served with the unit over the decade of its existence. It began as a single Air Liaison Officer and grew by 1969 to a strength of 35 personnel and a fleet of O-1 and O-2 aircraft. In February 1971 it reverted to a single ALO serving in an advisory role as the Vietnamese Air Force took over responsibility for controlling the air support for the Vietnamese Airborne.

Five Red Markers lost their lives performing the mission, one of those after he left the unit and was flying with another FAC detachment. Each is memorialized on the FAC Memorial at Colorado Springs, CO, and with an individual paver in the courtyard of the Airborne Museum in Fayetteville, NC.
