Hello everyone,
Just a final reminder about the meeting organised by the Nuclear
Awareness Group (NAG) on 'Plutonium and Health and Current Radiation
Dose Assessment' on Tuesday (15th July) with Dr John Harrison of the
Health Protection Agency. The meeting will be chaired by Penny Henrion,
Chair of the Berkshire West Primary Care Trust.
The meeting will be a unique opportunity to question a top government
expert about the impacts of radiation on health, including the impacts
arising from Berkshire's Atomic Weapons Establishments and the new
generation of nuclear power stations that the government is planning.
7.15 pm, Wednesday 15th July 2009
Kennet Room, Civic Centre, Reading, RG1 7TD.
The event is being organised in memory of Wendy McLeod-Gilford, a local
campaigner on radiation issues who recently died.
NAG is a broad-based local forum that developed from the Community
Inquiry into the Atomic Weapons Establishment held in Reading in 1994.
NAG ensures that anxieties raised by local people are not brushed under
the carpet, and campaigns for action and information from AWE and the
Ministry of Defence.
