Dave the Raw Food Trucker just gave me a call and apprized me of a situation with one of our fellow raw foodists, Elaina Love. Elaina is a wonderful raw food chef. I've known her for many years; since the early International Raw & Living Foods Festivals in Oregon. Apparently, her son is quite ill and she has taken him to Hippocrates Health Institute. The trip is to save his life and is quite expensive. She needs some help. I plan to donate and hope you'll consider doing the same.

Thanks,

Jeff Rogers

This is from Elaina's website:

Donations for Dominic's healing at Hippocrates Health Institute

My son Dominic was diagnosed with leukemia on Jan. 15, 2009. He underwent the traditional cancer treatment of chemo and radiation and bone marrow transplant, and the leukemia has recently come back aggresively. There is nothing more to do in the medical arena. So...I am taking Dominic to Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida for 3 weeks beginning on Sunday November 29th where he will eat a completely green, raw, vegan diet of juices and greens, get daily wheatgrass implants and oxygen therapy. I have so much faith in this way of allowing the body to heal itself that I know it will work. I will be there with him through it all.

The therapy and airfare combined are going to be close to $20,000 and that's just for the first 3 weeks.

Any help you can send us would be so great. Even $5. Feel free to "purchase" as many $5 donations as you are comfortable with. The gratitude I feel for you as I write this, even though I don't know who you are yet, is so huge I want to cry.

I have an extra New Organic Buckwheat Pillow that I ordered from Canada which
cost me $60 plus S&H...both the buckwheat and the pillow casing are
organic...the casing zips open to remove any buckwheat you need to fit your
comfort. I will let this go for $40 cash.

I also have some extra organic sprouting seeds that I also got from Canada. The
seeds are in unopened/unused packages. I will have to check to see all that I
have, but, off hand I know I have eextra Fenugreek and extra Broccoli seeds...I
am not sure of the price yet. I will have to check.

Does anybody else feed their children some cooked food, and having problems with addiction? We eat high-raw, low-fat. But not all raw. And I don't want to. But my son has some crazy food addiction and it really hurts his digestion. He will eat 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, and when I say "that's all" he cries. (He is 4 years old) I feel like the meanest mom telling him "No, you're not really hungry" when he says he is, etc. It makes eating with others very embarassing because nobody understand food addiction, and why would I restrict my son's eating? etc... I just feel very embarassed when this happens. It's hard for me because I love social eating and we actually have some friends who eat whole foods, low-fat, vegan meals but still we always seem to have an issue and I end up taking my crying son to the other room to talk it out.

Just wondering if there is anybody else out there?? I have never heard anybody else say this before.... Well I have heard some parents say their kids love to eat but the parents don't seem to mind. (the kids are chubby)

I just want to say thanks for caring for your child. I wish my parents had been more helpful with me with setting boundaries like this. As a consequence, my digestion now is really messed up.  I eat healthy (mostly raw) now because it is all my body will tolerate. I mean, I guess that's a good thing, sort of. Anyway children learn these habits young, and it's wonderful I think, those who have parents who help them set the boundaries young, it will be so much easier later (and the physical consequences less severe, or maybe non-existent).

Me too, and I messed up my digestion. I went to see a naturopath about it a
couple years ago and I was low on microflora and stomach acid as well as some
food allergies. When I follow the directions for these things, I actually do
pretty well. I also take enzymes with cooked meal. I also discovered that I have
rarely ever listened to my body and waiting until I was really hungry to eat a
meal, drinking water first, eating slowly and enjoying my food. I found that
helps TREMENDOUSLY. I thought I couldn't digest anything except properly
combined raw foods, but it turns out HOW I eat is much more important than WHAT
I eat. I've been eating cooked dinners lately and delighted to see for the first
time in years I can actually digest them - as long as I eat RESPONSIBLY.

I am looking for people interested in carrot, carrot/apple, apple, ginger or galanga root juice on a short term 1 - 3 month basis.

This is a stainless steel juicer recommended by the Gerson Institute as part of their cancer therapy.

I am not happy with the way it juices greens so I want to do what it does best apples and roots.

Thank you.

Hello!

With developing children and diet, there are a complexity of issues that can contribute to the type of behavior you are witnessing. My best recommendation to you would be to consult with a nutritional expert who can assist you in addressing the specific needs of your son at this specific moment in his life.

I know of three local nutritionists who could be of service to you and your family, and there are likely many more accessible through this list or other raw foods information venues in town: Andrea Nakayama (http://replenishpdx.com/), Tashi Rana (http://www.fieldofgreens.us/), and Jenna Abernathy (http://wwww.openheartwellness.com/).

Of the three, Andrea Nakayama specializes in working nutritionally with families and children on issues of mental and emotional health and wellbeing, including behavioral issues. She has a lot of experience with the types of issue you are hoping to address, but despite being a strong proponent for raw foods generally, her focus with children is not 100% raw.

Tashi Rana holds an MA in Vegan/Live Food Nutrition from Dr. Gabriel Cousens' Tree of Life, and is an excellent resource for live food nutrition.

Jenna Abernathy is a health counselor, massage therapist, and yoga teacher with a focus on  integration within the health and wellbeing lifestyle.

Any of the three should be able to assist you in addressing your current need.

Be well!

nice points Brion!

The great aspect about these consultants is that they also know how it is often a psychological or emotional reason for an eating imbalance and your observations about your son and the interactions or lack there of before the disturbing behavior will also help them to identify the possible causes.

I'm in SE Portland. I carry almost all the Excaliburs, both economy and deluxe. 4, 5, and 9 Tray, white or black. The only one I don't have is the Excalibur with built in timer.

If you are looking for used, I don't have any used Excalibur's, just new. I do have a gently used Good4U 10 Tray dehydrator available for a discounted price.

Most of my dehydrators are listed at http://store.TheRawDiet.com/fode.html  , I also carry the Nesco brand.

I also have a new book available, titled "The Everything Raw Food Recipe Book",

like to give them something engaging that avoids nama shoyu and doesn't overly
emphasize challenging ingredients such as young coconuts and exotic

U.S. JUDGE RULES AGAINST COMPULSORY VACCINATIONS
CBC News lose credibility when it over looks this story

US judge rules against compulsory vaccinations

30 years after compulsory vaccination became US Law:

US Court issues an injunction to stop it and to hold the the government and drug companies responsible for reactions.

A Preliminary Injunction to stop mandatory vaccinations has been issued in the United States District Court of New Jersey. This comes after a federal lawsuit opposing forced vaccines was filed in that court by Tim Vawter, pro se attorney, on July 31st with the federal government as defendant. When the judge signs the Preliminary Injunction, it will stop the federal government from forcing anyone in any state to take flu vaccine against their will. It will also prevent a state or local government from forcibly vaccinating anyone, and forbid any person who is not vaccinated from being denied any services or constitutional rights. Vawter’s filings included a Complaint, and several pages of evidentiary Exhibits.

Vawter’s legal papers have been written not only for filing in federal court, but additionally so they can be looked at by activists around the world for ideas on filing lawsuits in their own countries to help stop forced vaccinations. Vawter believes that as the truth of the dangers of flu vaccines continues to become known, banning the forced use of them will eventually succeed on a worldwide basis. He cautions people to avoid fear and keep themselves focused on the task of blocking forced vaccination.

Preliminary Injunction will immediately halt mandatory vaccinations in the U.S.

The Court, having heard the Motion for Preliminary Injunction and read the papers in its support, states in the Preliminary Injunction that it appears the federal government has engaged in some amount of negligence with regards to failure to properly investigate the safety of the flu vaccines scheduled for use in late 2009-2010, and the evidence submitted does warrant a more thorough investigation into the safety of the flu vaccines.

The Court ordered that the government shall be forbidden from forcing any person to be required to take any influenza vaccination against that person’s free will and free choice. The government will not allow any state or local government, or any party, to force any person to be required to take any influenza vaccination against that person’s free will and free choice.

U.S. government sued for gross negligence and violation of the Constitution
In his Cause of Action, Vawter charged that the federal government has engaged in gross negligence by funding and promoting flu vaccines that are proven to be dangerous and manufactured with little oversight. The vaccines scheduled for use in late 2009 and 2010 contain heavy metals including thimerosal mercurywhich have been proven to cause autism in children with lowered immune systems, and other dangerous and toxic ingredients. The federal government has stated it will force these flu vaccines onto the American public against their will, under a document signed by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

He further charged that the vaccine makers stand to earn billions of dollars selling vaccines, and are already spending tens of millions advertising a “Phase 6 Pandemic” that the evidence shows does not really exist. The federal government has not required the World Health Organization (WHO) to show evidence of such a pandemic. There has been no collection of facts, sworn testimony, witnesses being questioned, hearings being held, or lie detector tests being given when preposterous statements have been made.  The WHO declared a massive “Phase 6 Influenza Pandemic”, even though only a few hundred people worldwide had so far died of this swine flu virus, and when far more people die each year of regular flu.

Vawter noted there is a preponderance of evidence to show that the federal government so poorly trained its employees that they eagerly agreed with the unsubstantiated claims of the WHO in the face of evidence to the contrary.

Forced vaccination would violate the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution by allowing the government to enter homes and force people to be vaccinated, or to forcibly remove people to another location for vaccination. It would also violate Fifth Amendment Constitutional rights by depriving people of liberty without due process of law.

Vawter charged that the federal government has engaged in gross negligence by failing to properly investigate factual evidence submitted by esteemed medical professions over many years which proves flu vaccines have caused serious damage to people. The CDC has stated that thimerosal mercury is being used in the new flu vaccines being prepared.

The government has failed to investigate profiteering.. Billions of dollars in vaccine sales can cause organizations to falsify threats so as to cause unwarranted public hysteria leading to forced vaccinations.

The government is guilty of gross negligence because its employees failed to properly investigate the release of a case of live swine flu virus. One of the main companies the government deals with, Baxter Vaccines, was apparently involved in the transporting of live bird flu virus that was released on a public train earlier this year. A lab technician with the Swiss National Center for Influenza in Geneva had traveled to Zurich to collect eight ampoules, five of which were filled with the H1N1 swine flu virus. However, failure of the dry ice in their container allowed pressure to build up, and the ampoules exploded as the train was pulling into a station.

The highly reputable UK newspaper “the Telegraph” reported on July 2nd that flu vaccines tested on homeless people caused twenty-one of them to die.  Vawter charged there is a preponderance of evidence to show that government will not provide people being vaccinated with a list of the vaccine ingredients and possible negative side effects before they are vaccinated. Most of the public will not know this flu vaccine contains thimerosal mercury.

Vawter submitted an Order to force the government to publish vaccine ingredients and side effects, and to give this information to everyone who takes a flu vaccine, and do so at least 3 days prior to their vaccination. A denial of this order would violate Plaintiff’s rights to demand the government obey the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution by requiring it to engage in freedom of speech. The First Amendment not only allows a citizen to have freedom of speech himself, but it allows a citizen to demand his government engage in freedom of speech when it is promoting the use of such as these vaccinations to the public.

The government proclamation stating a person cannot sue for any damages he receives from the flu vaccine, completely bypasses the congress and the court system in violation of the Seventh Amendment of the Constitution which grants the right to sue to recover for damages. Vawter submitted an Order to deem unconstitutional any proclamation, rule or similar law that forbids people from suing for damages resulting from the vaccines of 2009 and 2010.

Hi, folks! Happy 2010!

I will be placing an order for items on the Raw Matrix website this week. If you are interested in high-quality cacao, nori, goji and incan berries, maca, and other yummy stuff, please get your orders to me by 3pm Wednesday, 1/6. I will have the items for pickup early the following week. (http://rawmatrix.net/orders.html)

In light of recent developments, it is unlikely the cacao products are truly raw. I'll be talking with my distributors on Monday about this. It's still the same very high quality cacao I've been providing all year, and exceeds the quality of cacao material most raw vendors have mistakenly been using in their product. More as I know it.

Thanks!

Hello raw PDX!

2010 already feels like a transformative year.

is anyone here in portland interested in doing a juice feast? (
www.juicefeasting.com ). i am planning on doing this, and there is a global
juice feast in March, but i am going to delay it for some personal reasons,
including gathering the financial resources and life support.

buying loads of produce could be expensive, and in addition i plan on adding in
colonics, tons of sauna time, etc.

anyway..who wants to join in? seems like something that would be easier if we
had a support group.

in light,
christine
