This group provides a discussion forum for members of the Ramblers' Association (RA), which is a UK registered charity (No 1093577). IT IS OPEN ONLY TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION and you will be asked by email to provide membership details when you ask to join.
To join, click where it says "Join this group". You should get an email back asking for your membership details. If you have not had an email request within a day or so, check your "spam" folder in case the message has inadvertently been placed there. It may speed up the joining process if you also send an e-mail to Ramblers-Net-owner@yahoogroups.com with the following details from your membership card: - Name, membership number, RA Area and Group.
If you don't already have a Yahoo identity we recommend that you get one as part of the joining process. Do this by clicking where it says "sign up." after you click on the "join this group" button". If you want to use your existing email address for Ramblers-Net messages, it will have to be "verified" by Yahoo - otherwise messages may go to your Yahoo mailbox.
If you have problems getting onto the forum, send an email with details to Ramblers-Net-owner@yahoogroups.com
Ramblers-Net is separate from the RA and has no official standing, but it is a useful way of exchanging views on a host of topics. These include anything relating to the RA's aims and objectives: Footpaths and Rights of Way; Protection of the Countryside; Access to Open Country: Promotion of Walking.
You can also bring up matters relating to the administration of the Association, its constitution and governance, including the method of electing officers and the Board of Trustees.
There is a separate forum for ideas and problems relating to the use of computers within the RA:-
