Featured in the picture is Collins 75S-1 serial number 55. This radio came off the assembly line at Collins in 1958. According to Collins collectors, Collins built radios in runs of 100 or 200 units at a time. This suggests that this specific radio was one of the first, modern era radios. It is almost fifty years old.
Not only were these radios hand built, many of the components and subassemblies were built by hand.
