Model Railroader in its August 2007 issue has an article about "where will the hobby go from here" and has a small paragraph about about "Radio Control". They think the next 10 years will bring about the popularization of radio-controlled locomotives. This group is for the advancement of R/C and Battery Powered trains for "Indoor" layouts. There are a few folks doing this today. Do you want to be next to try R/C and Battery Power.

This group will be a place where R/C is the norm and pushing the "State of the Art" is routine. The scale you pick to work in does not matter here. It is all about R/C and Battery Powered train engines for your layout.

Phoenix Sound Systems has a new sound module that is powered by a separate battery from the one used to power the RC Receiver. The new product is the P8. The photo shows one of my All-Trol Radio Control Systems connected to the new Phoenix P8. The P8 is a full featured sound module but the All-Trol system can only activate 3 sounds so I have the Engine and related engine sounds, a bell and a whistle sound.

Two big advantages:

1. Phoenix has a large sound library for different engines sounds and many bells and whistles, etc.

2. A battery dedicated only for the sound module. The batteries shown in the picture are 2 of my Eflight 11.1 volt LiPl battery.
