Description

This is a discussion group related to the life and writings of Dr. Jose Rizal, national hero of the Philippines. We ask that all postings in the Messages section relate to Rizal's life, writings, or his influence in today's world.

Your input is most welcome. Feel free to use a language with which you are comfortable such as English.

Miguel Morayta was a World History Teacher in the University of Madrid who deeply influenced Rizal in his Spanish Days. Attempts to remove him led to the firing of the head of the University by conservative forces resulting in a Student Disturbance. Rizal refused to receive his degree over the incident.
