Welcome to the "International Baccalaureate Announcement Listserv" for Richard Montgomery High School. This forum is intended as a Newsletter, a repository for information specific to the RM IB program. News will be posted from the IB Office or the Parent-Advisory Committee for the benefit of IB parents.

The IB was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968 as a non-profit educational foundation. The IB Program at RMHS was established in 1987 as a countywide program for academically capable and committed students interested in pursuing a rigorous pre-university course of studies. Students successfully completing the program earn an MCPS diploma, a Maryland Certificate of Merit, and the internationally recognized IB Diploma. The diploma achievement rate for RMHS IB students is among the highest in the world. The honors awards and test scores of IB students at RMHS have contributed to our reputation as one of the 100 best high schools in the country (Newsweek 2005).
