The list is for writers in the Rhode Island who wish
to, both on-line and in real time, discuss, critique, and
support personal writing projects. This group focuses on
science fiction, fantasy, speculative, and other fantastical
markets. Our goals are 1.) writing, 2.) submitting, and
3.) publishing. Implementation will be by submitting out
works for peer critique and also arranging a weekly or
bi-weekly Writers Group session in the Providence area
where members can share their work, do readings, and
critique in person.
Discussions can be on any topic related to writing or the
writing industry, preferably within the genres listed above.
Talk can also be about books on the market, and industry
publications such as Locus, Science Fiction Chronicle and
the SFWA Bulletin (to name a few) as well as stories from
Analog, Asimov's, SF&F and others.
Off-topic posts are allowed but if things get too
off-topic, we ask that you move it to private e-mail.
This list is unmoderated and any member may post messages
or upload files. Membership is not limited to the RI area,
anyone, any age, any gneder, any background can join, but
there will be a focus on starting a real-time Writers Group
in the northern Rhode Island area.
This is a new group, as of June, 2000, so the starting
may be slow, but as people sign on, we will pick up more
steam.
