Scale Weight Ratio?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #429 of 429 | Next >
The 1:48 scale 70' harbor barge I made to go with my Vac-U-Tug weighs about 11
pounds when ballasted to 1/2 its draft. Obviously the 1-to-48 ratio doesn't
apply to weight since the actual 70' barge would only displace 528 pounds.....
So, what is the formula or ratio used to scape up or down between model and real
vessels?
Thanks, Stan in CT.
