You should appeal the decision on your unemployment and make sure that you
submit documentation that shows that IBM froze the pension plan as of Dec 31,
2007 and has not contributed to your pension during the base period.
Even if you provided this information with your initial application, it wouldn't
be the first time someone in the unemployment office overlooked pertinent
documentation or made an incorrect decision.
Other IBMers in NY who are in the same situation as you are collecting
unemployment. So you should be able to receive UI as well.
