The Refugee Action Coalition is at the heart of the growing campaign against the mistreatment and scapegoating of refugees and asylum seekers by the Australian government.

We build public protests, distribute educational material and work with any other groups who agree the Australian government should:

1/ End mandatory detention and close the detention centres
2/ Provide permanent residency and full rights for refugees, not temporary protection visas which restrict access to welfare and family reunion
3/ Fund resettlement, not detention (here or in the Pacific)
4/ Stop the racist scapegoating of refugees

We encourage you to build local groups in your community to counter Howard and Ruddock's misinformation and scare tactics.
